Ítem Acceso Abierto La actividad física como factor de prevención del sedentarismo en adolescentes de 13-15 años(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Cordero Celdo, Mirian Alicia; Bravo Navarro, Wilson Hernando; 0350297347; ., .This research aims to analyze the Physical Activity level and Sedentary Habits of adolescents at the “Dr. Gabriel Sánchez Luna” Educational Unit through the application of the IPAQ (International Physical Activity Questionnaire) and Sedentary Habits questionnaires to know the lifestyle of this population. The design was non-experimental, with a quantitative approach and a descriptive scope. A non-probabilistic convenience sample of 54 students was used, 30 were males and 24 females aged 13 to 15. It had the authorization of the Educational Unit and proceeded to apply the questionnaires; the answers were analyzed using Microsoft Excel and the SPSS 26 software. The results revealed that Physical Activity levels in male students are higher than in female students; most of the adolescents walk to their place of study. On the other hand, high levels of use of technological devices, such as cell phones, and low computer use were observed.Ítem Acceso Abierto Actividad física y hábitos sedentarios en estudiantes de la Carrera PAFD(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Ali Lanchi, Paola Lizbeth; Navarro Bravo, Wilson Hernando; 0302534995; ., .This research aims to analyze the Physical Activity (PA) and Sedentary Habits (HS) levels of students of the Physical Education and Sports Pedagogy Faculty at the Catholic University of Cuenca Campus Azogues through the application of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) short version and the HS questionnaire to know if the university students comply with the PA recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO), according to age, sex, and cycle. The sample consisted of 158 students enrolled in 2021-2022, 118 are male, and 27 are female, ranging from 17 to 40 years of age. After conducting this study, it will provide theoretical support, and this reliable and understandable information will permit an understanding of the levels of physical activity and, at the same time, its percentage. The answers were analyzed using Microsoft Excel and the SPSS 26 software to obtain descriptive statistics. The results of the IPAQ questionnaire showed that PA levels are higher in men. In contrast, in women, the results of a higher percentage are reflected in walking e.g., they comply with the recommendations established by the WHO.Ítem Acceso Abierto La actividad física y sedentarismo en adolescentes de básica superior(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Yupa Buestan, Paul Adrián; Toledo Moncayo, Cecilia; 0105822449; ., .This research aims to analyze the physical activity level and sedentarism in adolescents aged 12 to 14 years from the "Ignacio Escandón" Educational Unit through the PAQ-A questionnaire. The sample comprised 64 students. A non-experimental design was employed, given that the variable was not manipulated, and it was cross-sectional because it was measured at a single point in time, and was descriptive in scope; this study was conducted using a quantitative approach for an interpretative examination of the data. It was determined that 56.16% of the population are sedentary, 28.08% do regular physical activity, and 15.60% do intense physical activity or have some sport as a hobby. Physical activity can improve cardiovascular capacity and the immune system and help control weight. It is one of the issues promoting students' health and is the only way to prevent diseases and sedentarism.Ítem Acceso Abierto Actividades Lúdicas en el desarrollo psicomotriz en niños de 8 a 10 años(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Garcia Molina, Kevin Germán; Jarrin Navas, Santiago; 0350098281; ., .Psychomotricity studies and develops motor and cognitive skills, making it possible to satisfy needs that influence the quality of life; therefore, this research aims to analyze the psychomotor development in children from 8 to 10 years old through ludic activities since, during this stage, normal development is affected by growth processes, as well as physical and psychic abilities changes. The methodology was pre-experimental with a longitudinal scope of quantitative approach, conducted in a population of 24 children, 14 boys and 10 girls from the "San Rafael" Educational Unit of Honorato Vásquez in Cañar canton; the research instrument was the EVANM neuromotor test of (90 items) validated by Cronbach's alpha (α= 0. 937) with a significant index, which was applied in a pre-and post-test where the basic movement patterns of walking, crawling, dragging, running, hop, balance, muscle tone, and postural control were evaluated. The pre-test indicated that 4% of the children had not acquired all the motor skills dimensions, 8% postural control, balance, and 21% muscle tone. The post-test showed that after applying the intervention proposal based on ludic activities through physical education such as games, exercises, and sports performed during 24 sessions from April to June 2023, there was significant progress in the motor skills acquisition, thus demonstrating a positive relationship between ludic activities and psychomotricity.Ítem Acceso Abierto Actividades recreativas para desarrollar la motricidad gruesa en niños de 6-8 años(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Calle Sarmiento, Cristian Fabian; Toledo Moncayo, Cecilia de la Nube; 0350153060; ., .Gross motor skills are the ability to move or produce movement through recreational activities at an early age in children because they facilitate the control of the body via actions and the development of different skills and abilities. This research aimed to improve gross motor skills levels with a recreational activities program for children from 6 to 8 years of age. The methodology was quasi-experimental, descriptive, longitudinal, and quantitative. A motor skill test was used to evaluate 30 children from the “Daniel Muñoz Serrano” Educational Unit in Biblian Canton to know the current level of recreational activities concerning gross motor skills. For this purpose, students were the sample and represented the population. They participated in an eight-week program with 40-minute training sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The results evidenced percentage changes between the pre- and post-tests of the two study variables. These results consider that the program's application to improve gross motor skills in children greatly supports and benefits performing daily activities and improving their physical, psychological, and social condition. It is concluded that playful activities are ideal for children to learn and develop correctly since kids learn by playing.Ítem Acceso Abierto El ajedrez como estrategia pedagógica para el fortalecimiento de los procesos cognitivos(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2021) Guamán Guamán, Luis Alejandro; Bravo Navarro, Wilson; 0302715883; ., .Physical Education is generally linked to physical activity only, when disciplines such as chess, which are developed in a cognitive space and can also contribute to improving academic performance in other areas, can also be encouraged. Unfortunately, this sport is not implemented in educational institutions despite its benefits. In this sense, the objective of this research was to know a bibliographic analysis the valuation of chess as part of the strategies that contribute to pedagogical practices. The research method was the bibliographic review, conducted by means of a systematic method based on keywords for the search, and inclusion and exclusion criteria for the selection of researches. The results show that there is concordance in the references regarding the benefits of chess in the academic performance and the development of cognitive skills in the students, including, also at a social and emotional level. The conclusions of the research agree with the suggestions issued by UNICEF, to implement these activities as part of the curriculum at all educational levels, considering its extensive benefits in the academic context. It is observed, however, that it is still necessary to investigate the teaching methods, and the need for Physical Education teachers who want to approach this teaching methods, and the need for Physical Education teachers who want to approach this teaching process, to specialize in the game, as well as in its pedagogy, in order to be able to teach it adequately and, in turn, to make the best possible use of it.Ítem Acceso Abierto Aplicación de una guía metodológica para el desarrollo de la flexibilidad en la clase de educación física(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Orellana Yunga, Luis Fernando; Almache Tello, Luis Fernando; 0105126395; ., .Flexibility is a fundamental physical quality that refers to the ability of muscles and joints to move widely and without restrictions. It is essential to maintain optimal body function and improve performance in various physical activities. Specific stretching and mobility exercises can increase muscle and joint flexibility, contributing to a greater range of motion and injury prevention. Additionally, it plays a crucial role in proper posture and body alignment, which can help reduce tension and stress in muscles and joints. This research aims to develop a methodological guide for exercises to enhance flexibility development in students at the "26 de Febrero" Educational Unit in Paute Canton, Azuay province. Pre-test and post-test were conducted to get data, and the Sit and Reach test was applied to measure the flexibility degree. The study population comprised 284 students, from which a convenience sample of 129 students was selected, including 75 males and 54 females aged between 11 and 15. For the data analysis in this research, the SPSS software was used to obtain reliable results. The objective of this research is to determine the benefits of the practice of boxing in the rehabilitation center of addictions Kairos in Azogues city. This research was conducted through the descriptive method, with a qualitative cross-sectional approach; among the main methods, techniques, and instruments were used, the synthetic analytical, deductive, historical- logical, as well as a questionnaire, was applied to 60 people in the rehabilitation process using the google forms system. As main results it was obtained that 55% of the population in the rehabilitation process know that the planned and systematic practice of sport contributes favorably to their rehabilitation process, also 46.7% consider that the practice of sport helps to improve the family relationship. The survey technique was used, consisting of 8 questions applied to 51 adolescents. Once the research was completed, it was possible to determine that most of the adolescents' free time is dedicated to physical activity is the use of digital media, and social networks. Córdova" in the canton of Cañar, because of a misuse of technology are becoming more physically inactive; for this, we analyzed the practice of physical activity in them. This research has a population of 517 students, with a sample of 221 students, a non-experimental design was used, with a cross-sectional descriptive scope, with a qualitative approach because an interpretative analysis was made on the data obtained through the application of questionnaires (PAQ-A) and questionnaire of sedentary sociodemographic activities. lt was determined that 44% of the population perform different physical activities or practice some type of sport, a minimum of students reach the levels of physical activity recommended by the WHO, which are 3 days per week, the levels of physical activity in a large percentage is insufficient since most of the population does not have the necessary interest in the practice of it, causing a greater abandonment of their educational and social life, because of a large percentage use technological advances.Ítem Acceso Abierto El coaching deportivo y la motivación en el Club de Fútbol Independiente Azogues(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2021) Peralta Peralta, Jonnathan Fabián; Torres Palchisaca, Zoila Guillermina; 0302302971; ., .The physical, technical and psychological skills are involved in the activities and practices of each of the athletes, today it is possible to develop all of that, through scientific advances and the contributions of sports coaching and motivation within the sports field. The objective of this article was to analyze the importance of the implementation of sports coaching and motivation as preparation tools in the players of the Independiente Azogues Club, for which a qualitative-quantitative, literature, field research with a descriptive scope was conducted.The survey technique was used, consisting of 11 questions addressed to 25 players of the Independiente Azogues soccer team, and the analysis of all the results collected was done by the statistical program Google Form. Thus, this research aims to identify the development level of professional competencies of students and graduates in Physical Activity and Sport Pedagogy. This study is non-experimental, exploratory, descriptive, with quantitative and cross-sectional scope; the sample comprised 38 students of the eighth semester and 22 graduates in Physical Activity and Sport Pedagogy, which was determined non-randomly by convenience. Results: The Physical Activity and Sports Pedagogy graduates present valuations within the Liker scale with always and almost always in the knowledge of the professional competencies found in the Career Professional Profile; they apply them in their professional practice within the teaching-learning processes. On the contrary, students are within almost always and sometimes valuations; i.e., they have less knowledge of professional competencies, which the lack of experience at the professional level can justify. It was possible to conclude that students and graduates present and know most of the professional competencies according to the Graduate Profile of the Catholic University of Cuenca required in the labor field.Ítem Acceso Abierto Comportamientos sedentarios y niveles de actividad física en estudiantes de bachillerato(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) González González, Ronald Israel; Ávila Mediavilla, Marcelo; 0302334354; ., .Objective: To determine sedentary behaviors and the physical activity level achieved by Baccalaureate students of the Los Cañaris Educational Unit in Azogues City, Luis Cordero parish, through the application of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ). Methodology: Non-experimental study, quantitative approach, descriptive and cross-sectional. Population: 59 students aged 15 to 17 years old; the entire population constituted the sample. Instruments: IPAQ, short version. Results: The sample comprised 36 male students, 61.3%, and 23 female students, 38.8%. From the male sex group, 15.2% had a low level, 10.6% a medium level, and 35.5% a high level. From the female sex group, 6.7% have a low level, 16.9% a medium level, and 15.2% a high level. According to the age range, 33.8% are 15 years old, 8.4% have a low level, 13.5% a medium level, and 11.8% a high level; the 16 years old range represents 54.2% where 10.1% have a low level, 8.4% a medium level and 37.5% a high level; 17 years old range represented 21.9% a low level of PA, 27.3% a medium level and 52.7% a high level. The present rescarch topic is important from the curricular point of view since currently, Education tends to introduce in its program within the arca of Physical Education the field of folklore, especially the practice of physical activitics línked to dance and rhythmic development, it is original because it raises the need to involve the teaching-learning procese folklore by creating and developing new pedagogical tools for physical education classes in the Dolores Sucre Educational Unit of the Azogues canton of the Cañar province, for which reseerch was made that responds to a qualitative-quantitative approach, of descriptive type of transversal cut, with the bibliographic, descriptive, and historical-logical methods, a survey was applied that will be used as an instrument to collect of information, the survey consists of 8 questions of open form. It should be noted that this survey was elaborated in thc Google Drive tool. This study analyzes the advantages of the systematic practice of adapted sports as a life alternative for people with disabilities. The research has a cross-sectional descriptive scope with a quantitative approach. The population comprised 42 parents of the ‘Luis Segundo Alfonso Coronel Andrade’ Educational Unit, an institution for people with disabilities. A questionnaire of 13 questions related to the benefits of adapted sports for people with disabilities was applied, and it was revised and validated by experts in physical activity and sports. According to the respondents, practicing adapted sports improves socialization, self-esteem, and emotional management. The referees are responsible for these sporting events and enforce the current rules and regulations. It is the most popular in the world because it is practiced by young and old alike. This research aims to establish the incidence of coordination skills capacities with the mastery of the technical fundamentals of soccer in children between 8 and 11 years of age at the Suárez Sports Initiation School in Cuenca city. The methodology was of a non-experimental type, with a cross-sectional descriptive scope and quantitative approach, applying the KTK test to the 22 players of the club who are part of the sample and, therefore, the population. The current technical, physical, and psychological level in soccer is evidenced. Finally, it is concluded that the development of physical coordination skills greatly supports the soccer school coaching staff and the players since if they master each, they can improve their results in different competitions. Players could reach local, national, and international achievements and simultaneously be living examples for the next generations.Ítem Acceso Abierto Entrenamiento de la lateralidad del fútbol en los niños de la categoría sub 13(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2021) Sacta Calle, Carlos Geovanny; Vargas Cuenca, Gilbert Mauricio; 0301674826; ., .The research work is directed to the training of laterality concerning the fundamentals of soccer; control conduction, passing, and finishing the ball to the goal, trying improve the coordination and mastery uf both profiles in situations that arise in a soccer. The sample consists v of 28 children with ages ranging 10 to 13 years, who live in the Canton Biblián and Azogues; they were selected for their characteristics a sample of 90 athletes of the institution. In response to the instruments were selected to identify the variant laterality of the children through the Harris test, it was determined that 89% (25) are right-handed and the others e left-.handed, through the use of an observation of soccer, then it was determined how effective is the development of laterality in the sport. Significant differences between laterality and fundamentals of soccer were discarded according to the positional and functional variables of the athlete on the playing field. As the main conclusion, it is highlighted the proposal of a methodological guide of exercises that help the training of laterality in soccer and the due importance it deserves, looking for the improvement of the ability, coordination, and mastery of both profiles, for a better performance of the sport which will generate greater opportunities for a soccer player to become a professional footballer.Ítem Acceso Abierto Estilo de vida y evaluación del índice de masa corporal en escolares del sector rural(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Álvarez Jiménez, Wilmer Fabián; Torres Palchisaca, Zoila; 0106639677; ., .Introduction: Lifestyle is a set of habits, whether healthy or not, that are part of the daily life of each individual and, depending on it, will provide a balance between physical and mental well-being or, on the contrary, will deteriorate the quality of life. This study aimed to identify the lifestyle and evaluation of Body Mass Index (BMI) in rural schoolchildren. Method: The research is exploratory and descriptive in scope; it has a non-experimental design of transversal cut with a qualitative approach. The sample comprised 56 schoolchildren of the "Luis Benigno Torres" Educational Unit from 8 to 12 years whose lifestyle and BMI were assessed through an instrument that gets data about the Adolescent Lifestyle, which was adapted for children. Conclusion: It was observed that children from rural areas have good and healthier habits; in terms of physical activity and nutrition, boys, and girls demonstrate a healthy lifestyle since the highest percentage of them have balanced diets and are not sedentary. On the other hand, concerning emotional state, all the children showed concern for their future, which sometimes frustrates them. The last dimension on social relationships revealed that the children prefer to turn to their families in difficult situations and are satisfied with their social relationships.Ítem Acceso Abierto Estilos de vida saludables asociados a la actividad física en estudiantes de bachillerato(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Parra Cordero, Edgar Mauricio; Almache Tello, Olger; 0302070966; ., .The habits and behaviors of young people are influenced by their lifestyles and the transition to adulthood, which increases their vulnerability to suffering from chronic noncommunicable diseases. This research aims to know the current physical activity level and lifestyles of ‘Javier Loyola Educational Unit students by applying two questionnaires; thus, a descriptive cross-sectional study of 106 students —45 males and 61 females— with an average of 17.12 years was conducted. The ESVISAUN questionnaire and the FANTÁSTIC instrument were employed to identify the elements that link these students to different lifestyles. Data processing and analysis were performed with (IBM SPSS Statistics 26 statistical software). The results showed that 75.8% of the participants did not accomplish the recommendable 60 minutes of physical activity per day, 18.9% did not get the recommended 7 to 9 hours of sleep, 57% of the adolescents had three meals per day, 14.1% consumed alcohol occasionally to frequently, 74.1% had not consumed alcohol at all, 33% smoked cigarette rarely to occasionally, and 67% had not consumed it at all.Ítem Acceso Abierto Estrategias metodológicas para la enseñanza de la técnica del driblin en el fútbol categoría cadetes(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Avila Avila, Cristian Javier; Jarrín Navas, Santiago Alejandro; 03002407853; ., .The present study proposes a methodological guide for teaching the dribbling technique in the soccer category; since young players present a deficiency in this. The objective was to evaluate the dribbling of the Azogues Juniors club soccer players by utilizing the validated test Mor-Christian General Soccer Ability Skill Test Battery to know the current state of the athletes. The research was quasi-experimental with a descriptive scope of longitudinal cut and a quantitative approach; a non-probabilistic sampling by convenience was used, two groups were formed, the experimental group of 15 people and the control group of 5 athletes, a guide of physical-recreational exercises were applied, this study lasted ten weeks divided into three sessions of 50 minutes per week. It was evidenced that the methodological guide helped improve the dribbling technique in the experimental group, whereas in the control group, it did not vary.
