(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2024) Dutan Urgiles, Evelin Gabriela; Ramírez Coronel, Andrés Alexis; 0302366695
Introduction: Gynecological violence refers to practices performed by healthcare staff during gynecological care, encompassing actions ranging from psychological and physical violence to inappropriate behaviors such as commenting on women's bodies, intentionally painful procedures, disrespect for autonomy and dignity, lack of privacy during gynecological exams, usage of derogatory or intimidating language, among other forms of abuse. Objective: To examine the prevalence and risk factors of gynecological violence through a systematic review and meta-analysis of scientific literature. Methodology: A systematic review of the scientific literature from 2019 to 2023 was conducted on Scopus, Web of Science, and PubMed databases. The PRISMA method recommendations were followed to ensure the rigor of the process. Results: Meta-analysis of proportions regarding prevalence reveals a 24% incidence of gynecological violence while concerning the most common risk factors among the 27 selected articles are gender and age. Conclusion: The importance of establishing public health policies aimed at prevention to reduce the prevalence of gynecological violence is evident. These measures should address awareness and education and the implementation of clear protocols and preventive measures in gynecological healthcare settings. Keywords: gynecological violence, prevalence, risk factors

The changes faced by pregnant or postpartum women develop a scenario of risk for various ailments or discomforts, making it essential to attend all prenatal check-ups and avoid administering chemical drugs as they may affect the well-being or survival of the mother and the baby. Objective: To systematize scientific evidence from different theoretical foundations on herbal medicine used during pregnancy and postpartum in Ecuador. Methodology: A systematic review study approached from a qualitative perspective was conducted, with a descriptive scope and design, through the application of the PRISMA 2020 statement, considering the selection of articles from scientific databases such as PubMed, Scopus, Lilacs, Web of Science, Redalyc, and SciELO. Results: During fetal development, anise, flaxseed, lemon balm, and chamomile can be used. During labor and postpartum, rosemary, parsley, avocado seed, eucalyptus, and anise can be consumed. Pennyroyal, rue, and basil are contraindicated in pregnancy due to their abortive properties. Conclusion: In many cultural groups, herbal medicine is a significant option, especially in contexts with limited economic resources, where beliefs and customs persist, and there is limited access to healthcare services. Keywords: medicinal plants; pregnancy; postpartum

Probiotics are considered one of the significant advances in pediatrics, as they provide a reliable alternative to prevent and address a series of digestive disorders that may affect infants' physical growth and neuronal development. Objective: To identify the most commonly used probiotics and their benefits and adverse effects during early childhood. Methodology: This is a systematic review conducted following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, involving the selection of articles from high-impact scientific databases available at the Monseñor Froilán Pozo Quevedo Library, Catholic University of Cuenca Campus Azogues, such as PubMed, Scopus, LILACS, Redalyc, SciELO, Google Scholar, and Web of Science. Results: The most commonly used supplements include Bifidobacterium, Lactobacillus GG, and Saccharomyces, with various strains targeted at treating different conditions. These compounds do not have significant adverse effects; however, typical side effects include gas, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, stomachache, bloating, and abdominal pain. Sleep is a normal physiological state, controlled by various neurobiological systems, in which motor activities cease during rest; however, the lack of it contributes to multiple physiological complications. Objective: To describe nursing care in patients with sleep disorders. Methodology: A systematic analysis with a qualitative descriptive approach was conducted using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) method. The search and selection of scientific content were obtained through databases such as PubMed, Redalyc, Scopus, Google Scholar, and SciELO. Results: Upon analyzing the 3320 selected articles, 24 met the inclusion criteria, revealing that sleep is interrupted by various factors that lead to several harmful disorders for the patient's health. Conclusion: According to the reviews performed, it was observed that sleep disorders are triggered by physical, psychological, and environmental factors, constituting a health problem. Nevertheless, nursing care contributes to better sleep onset, thereby improving the quality of rest.

Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is a group of microorganisms that can be transmitted to the human host through intimate sexual relations, whether oral, vaginal, or anal. The contagion of this pathogen is highly prevalent in almost the entire sexually active population, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Objective: To determine the factors associated with Human Papillomavirus infection in America. Methodology: A systematic review of the meta-study descriptive type was conducted under a mixed approach, considering 30 publications from scientific databases such as Web of Science, Medline/Scopus, LILACS, PubMed, SciELO, and Redalyc. Results: The main factors associated with HPV infection in the American region include engaging in sexual activity at an early age, having intimate relations with multiple partners without any protection method, reluctance towards vaccination from an early age, lack of sexual education, cultural identity, migratory movements, multiparity, immune system problems, precarious living conditions, psychoactive substance consumption, family history, and inadequate health policies. Conclusions: The most significant impact of HPV development in the American Continent is related to oncological diseases. At a low-risk level, implications include the appearance of warts in the genital, throat, anus, and mouth.
