Ítem Acceso Abierto Anteproyecto de un centro de capacitación y rehabilitación a partir de estrategias sensoriales para personas con discapacidad visual en Cuenca(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2025) Lliguin Tigre, Bryan Marcelo; Borja Ortiz, Roberto Oswaldo; Quizhpe Campoverde, José David; 0150815579; 0106138670This research develops a preliminary architectural design for a Training and Rehabilitation Center for People with Visual Impairments in Cuenca, situated on a site of 4,897.98 m². The project arises from a sensory approach, identified as a response to the lack of inclusive spaces in the urban environment, revealed through an analysis of the historic center (within a 500 m radius) and the SONVA center ―a Visually impaired people's society of Azuay―. Strategies from references such as the Lighthouse and the Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired are incorporated, highlighting tactile, acoustic, and olfactory elements that enhance orientation and autonomy. The proposal integrates varied materials, contrasting lighting, and intuitive circulation patterns. The methodology included surveys, regulatory analysis, and experimental journeys with blindfolds to understand the user experience. As a result, a functional and flexible space is proposed that fosters rehabilitation and training. It is concluded that sensory architecture, derived from an in-depth analysis of the environment and the users' needs, can improve the quality of life for people with visual impairments through spaces that serve as means of interaction, autonomy, and learning.Ítem Acceso Abierto Anteproyecto de una vivienda de interés social con la aplicación del concepto de vivienda progresiva para personas en situación de déficit habitacional en Cuenca(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2025) Castillo Caceres, Edison Eduardo; Moscoso García, Pedro Alex; 0106102221This design proposal aims to analyze the implementation of future expansion concepts in existing housing within the project of the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing (MIDUVI, by its Spanish acronym). The case study focuses on the location of the project and the deficiencies it presents, which make it difficult to meet the needs of the residents. The objective is to create a housing design that evolves and grows over time, adapting to each homeowner’s needs to avoid facing comfort problems in the spaces. Furthermore, it is intended to provide decent housing to low-income individuals, with a modern design and the implementation of efficient design strategies. The project will aim to be affordable, making it accessible to people currently suffering from a housing shortage in the city. The result will be an analysis and a design proposal for new housing based on the needs identified in the diagnostic assessment. This housing model can be used in various social interest projects within the same entity.Ítem Acceso Abierto Diseño orientado a las necesidades espaciales de niños con TEA para los centros terapéuticos en la ciudad de Cuenca(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) González Robles, Gabriela Patricia; Reyes Rodas, Deysi Katerine; 0107263709Ítem Acceso Abierto Equipamiento cultural infantil como reactivador y nuevo eje conector entre plataformas del Centro Histórico y El Ejido en el barranco de la Ciudad de Cuenca(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Zhapa Quezada, María José; Peñafiel Ortega, Cristian Eduardo; 0106788433Ítem Acceso Abierto Evaluación de la accesibilidad y movilidad inclusiva urbana de un sector de Misicata y Miraflores(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Sarmiento Torres, María Alejandra; Segarra Caes, Andrea Geovanna; Pintado Farfán, Julio César; 0107335408; 0105535926Ítem Solo Metadatos Mobiliario urbano de recreación para la inclusión de niños y adolescentes (7-18 años) con discapacidad física motora moderada para el Parque de La Madre(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Iglesias Montero, Mónica Daniela; Contreras Escandón, Christian Hernán; 0105184113Ítem Acceso Abierto Optimización urbanística del Centro Histórico de Cuenca mediante estrategias de supermanzanas entre las calles Presidente Borrero, Simón Bolívar, Mariano Cueva y Mariscal Lamar(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2024) Ayora Guillén, Mateo Nicolás; Ayora Guillén, Esteban Javier; Espinoza Iñiguez, Enma Alexandra; 0106369572; 0104975719; García Calle, Anthony AlxanderThis graduation project proposes an innovative and necessary approach to address the challenges of mobility and sustainability in the Historic Center of Cuenca. Through an analysis of national and international case studies, issues such as traffic congestion and the reduction of public spaces have been identified. To resolve these problems, the implementation of the concept of superblocks is proposed, a model that prioritizes pedestrians, cyclists, and public transport, transforming the way citizens move around. A key aspect of this proposal is the active participation of the community, involving residents from the planning phase through to execution. Collaborative workshops and surveys are suggested to allow neighbors to share their ideas and needs, while the creation of neighborhood committees would enable oversight and adjustments to the plan based on the results of pilot tests. The project concludes that this model would not only alleviate traffic but also revitalize public spaces, improving the residents’ quality of life. By achieving a balance between modernization and the preservation of historical heritage, this proposal emphasizes the importance of flexible planning based on safety, accessibility, and ongoing community participation to achieve truly sustainable urbanism.
