The Bulk Fill resins usage is associated with monoblock techniques, reducing clinical time; fiber-reinforced resins present excellent mechanical properties such as increased resistance to occlusal forces due to their mechanical properties. Materials and methods: Descriptive research with a quantitative approach was conducted, following the PRISMA statement. Initially, 245 documents were identified, and after applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, 13 documents were selected for the study. Results: After examining success rates, clinical performance, and application difficulties, the findings indicated that Bulk Fill resin restorations have a success rate of over 95% between 6 months and five years; its complications included lack of adaptation, marginal staining, and microleakage. On the other hand, fiber-reinforced resins showed a high success rate with a fatigue resistance of 87%, with non-catastrophic fractures identified as complications. Conclusions: The two resin systems have presented excellent clinical performance so their use is recommended; therefore, research is limited by the lack of literature on fiber-reinforced resins because they are a new element in restorative dentistry.Ítem Acceso Abierto Análisis de la coordinación motriz de las divisiones formativas de baloncesto del Club Unidos(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2021) Barahona Zhirzhan, Diego Ismael; Almache Tello, Olger Estuardo; 0104963491; .Poor work in motor coordination avoid players become excellent and more competitive and this is one of the problems that occurs most frequently during a U12 category basketball competition. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A systematic search was conducted in virtual libraries such as PubMed, Redalyc, SciELO, Web of Science, Scopus, and Elsevier, using inclusion criteria, information in Spanish or English, from 2013 to 2023, related to exam glove contamination before, during, and after endodontic treatment. The studied variables were identifying microorganisms in endodontics and referencing bacterial identification techniques like PCR tests, cultures, and EM Maltditof. RESULTS: The chamber access stage has the highest contamination peak since it is when caries or radicular infection begins to be removed and mixed with produced aerosols, allowing their expansion and settling on the surface of gloves. More prevalent microorganisms such as Enterococcus faecalis, Staphylococcus aureus, and Streptococcus mutans were identified. According to the studies analyzed for this work, PCR tests were determined as the most commonly used microbiological identification techniques in endodontics. CONCLUSIONS: Microbial contamination exists in gloves during endodontic treatment, considering that they come into contact with used endodontic instruments that carry microorganisms due to the flora of the canal and its removal. After the review, it is determined that more contamination in the chamber opening is generated by this contact or by the presence of carious lesions and their bacterial load.Ítem Acceso Abierto Control prenatal asociado a complicaciones obstétricas(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2020) Guallpa Tandazo, Miriam Paola; Godoy Durán, Elvia Narcisa; 0302239058; .El control prenatal constituye una herramienta eficaz en la prevención de complicaciones obstétricas, pues permite al profesional de salud realizar un seguimiento adecuado con impacto en la disminución de la morbimortalidad materno neonatal. CONCLUSION: Due to the high risk of contamination, oral and maxillofacial surgeons have the obligation to adhere strictly to the biosafety protocols that the authorities have created to avoid possible infections.Ítem Acceso Abierto Determinantes del incumplimiento del cuidado enfermero en el manejo del catéter venoso central. Revisión Sistemática(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Contento Gualan, Melva Isabel; Cordero Zumba, Nancy Beatriz; 1105897134; .The central venous catheter is a vascular device manufactured with biocompatible material, indicated to administer drugs or intravenous substances required by the patient. Objective: To systematize the available scientific evidence on the determinants that affect the noncompliance of nursing care in the management of central venous catheters through a systematic review that includes the search, analysis, and synthesis of different theoretical supports obtained from different sources of scientific information duly referenced. Methodology: The present study is a systematic review using the prism method, carried out under a qualitative approach, considering 30 publications obtained from scientific databases such as Web of Science, MedLine/Scopus, Lilacs, PubMed, SciELO, and Redalyc. Results: The studies reviewed indicate that the nursing care applied in central venous catheter care is related to three fundamental aspects: insertion, handling, and removal of the device. These complications can be mechanical and infectious, and the factors that influence noncompliance with catheter management are lack of knowledge of the correct technique, excessive workload, noncompliance with protocols, and a shortage of supplies, among others. Conclusions: Determinants influencing noncompliance with nursing care in central venous catheter management include a lack of knowledge among nursing staff, excessive workload, a shortage of sanitary supplies, limited patient collaboration, and the absence of manuals outlining staff responsibilities.Ítem Acceso Abierto Diseño de un plan de inversión para un SPA de mascotas domésticas, en la ciudad de Azogues(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2020) Rojas Calle, María Fernanda; Solís Muñoz, Juan Bautista; S.C.; .Knowing that pets are considered as one more member of the family and that currently there are various ways to satisfy their needs in terms of food, clothing, health, fun and training; The implementation of a pet spa in the city of Azogues has been deemed necessary.
