The determinants of arterial hypertension are the systolic and diastolic components that depend on cardiac output volume and peripheral vascular resistance. Arterial hypertension in elderly patients is one of the most common diseases due to factors leading to cardiovascular complications and a case fatality rate of 30% in America. The study aimed to identify the determinants triggering the complications of arterial hypertension in older adults. A qualitative-descriptive search was conducted, in full-text, in English and Spanish, examining the sources consulted for the research: SciELO and Google Scholar, using various studies conducted from 2018 to 2023 as a foundation. The information available from the data reviewed in 17 publications, mainly in Ecuador and Latin America, revealed the risk factors with the highest incidence of developing hypertension: inappropriate diet, sedentary lifestyle, tobacco use, alcohol consumption, and family history. The study concluded that complications of arterial hypertension were more predominant in the Afro-descendant ethnic group and among females in the older adult population. Risk factors influence multiple cardiovascular diseases associated with organ damage. Notably, the prevalence in geriatric patients linked to high blood pressure is relatively influenced by the benefit of multiple pharmacotherapy treatments and altered pharmacokinetics inherent to this elderly group.

This bibliographic research focused on examining the results of studies applied to a group of people in Ecuador. The selected documents helped to analyze the risks associated with overweight and obesity. It used a qualitative research methodology with a non-experimental descriptive design to accomplish the objectives. The documents were selected using the PRISMA method and applying inclusion and exclusion criteria. Among the findings, it has been possible to determine that the risk linked to excess weight arises from a body mass increase, malnutrition, and conditions like hypertension. Furthermore, it was identified that the characteristics associated with overweight and obesity stem from various factors, including an individual's physical structure, an expansion in abdominal circumference, and engagement in daily activities or routines. Additionally, it was determined that the primary contributors to excess weight include the presence of sicknesses such as high cholesterol, hyperglycemia, and elevated triglyceride levels. In conclusion, to improve the quality of life for young adults, they should adopt healthy eating habits, exercise regularly, or participate in sports to stay active and prevent the development of weightrelated health issues in the future. Finally, it is recommended to conduct studies that guide healthy eating and exercise based on the body type of everyone.

Human Papillomavirus (HPV) comprises a diverse group of DNA viruses that belong to the "Papillomaviridae" family. It predominantly affects the sexual and reproductive health of women and men, with a disproportionately higher negative impact on females. This research aims to analyze the primary risk factors associated with HPV and its incidence on women's sexual and reproductive health. The study is firmly based on the qualitative approach and employs a literature review and documentary analysis to gather information on the study variables. This analysis enables the exploration of meanings, identification of patterns, and examination of trends related to the issue studied. In terms of methodology, more than 50 documents were analyzed, including scientific articles and undergraduate and postgraduate theses from various institutional repositories. It is important to highlight that about 38 recent scientific papers were considered, greatly enhancing this study and adding scientific credibility to it. The findings revealed that the primary risk factors associated with acquiring this dangerous virus include early initiation of sexual activity, being promiscuous, failing to use protective barriers during sexual contact, and having a history of other sexually transmitted diseases. These factors can adversely affect women's sexual and reproductive health, potentially leading to conditions such as cervical cancer, pregnancy complications, and the risk of transmitting the virus to the newborn.

Cardiac ischemia is a global healthcare issue related to public health due to its severity and high mortality rates, where nursing care for patients with these conditions is crucial. This study aimed to establish the role of the Nursing Unit in managing patients with cardiac ischemia in Ecuador through a documentary review using the PRISMA method. Information was collected from recognized data sources, including Medline, Redalyc, Google Scholar, SciELO, and Institutional Repositories, resulting in a total of 43 studies published in the last five years. After undergoing a review for compliance with specific criteria, only ten publications met the requirements and were included in the final research process. The findings indicated that the nursing team responsible for the care of cardiac patients should have the necessary training, knowledge, and education to provide individualized, comprehensive, and high-quality care to patients. It involves constant monitoring, adherence to the therapeutic regimen, participation in rehabilitation, self-care education, high-quality discharge planning, nurse-patient relationships, multidisciplinary teamwork, effective communication, and other actions that lead to promoting a recovery process. In conclusion, the nursing unit plays a crucial role in the supervision of patients with cardiac ischemia, and it is recommended to maintain continuous education and strengthen competencies within the nursing team.

The present research titled "Revision of Cold Chain Management of Biologics: A Proposal Based on Existing Literature" aims to find ways to better handle and follow the cold chain process for biologics in healthcare facilities by nursing personnel through the usage of current standards and protocols. The methodology is based on a literature review with an argumentative approach, which will give rise to the critical analysis of the possible solution according to nursing techniques and methods for the care, control, and improvement of the quality of biologics. This study employed primary databases such as PubMed, Scopus, Elsevier, SciELO, and Google Scholar. Findings revealed that the handling of biologics at each stage of transportation should be constantly monitored, in addition to maintaining comprehensive cold chain control, because if the established temperature is lost, the biologics tend to deteriorate. In conclusion, it is fundamental to educate healthcare personnel on handling, packaging, transportation, and equipment maintenance to ensure the quality of biologics, as these requirements are not being accomplished.
