“Elementos que inciden en la satisfacción del cliente dentro de las Mipymes dedicadas a la venta de comidas típicas en la ciudad de Cuenca, Ecuador.”
(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2025) Picón Espinoza, Bryam Steven; Moreno Sempertegui, Henry Esteban; Astudillo Arias, Pedro Yamil; 0105992937; 0105864250
This research examines how factors such as price, location, product quality, waiting time, and customer service affect consumer satisfaction in micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) offering traditional meals in Cuenca, Ecuador. A non-experimental descriptive study was conducted, collecting quantitative data through surveys administered to 115 owners and managers of various gastronomic establishments in the city, selected from a population of 2,982 MSMEs registered with the Internal Revenue Service (SRI, by its Spanish acronym) in 2024. The results, obtained through multiple linear regression, indicate that the analyzed factors explain 77.8% of the variability in customer satisfaction (adjusted R² = 0.778, Table 1). Product quality is the most influential factor (β = 0.313, p = 0.002), followed by customer service (β = 0.293, p = 0.001) and waiting time (β = 0.268, p = 0.002), according to the coefficients in Table 3. Location (β = 0.176, p = 0.073) and price (β = -1.01, p = 0.248) are not statistically significant (p > 0.05), suggesting a limited impact on customer satisfaction. These findings, supported by the model’s overall significance (F= 80.762, p < 0.001, Table 2), highlight the importance of prioritizing product quality and customer service to enhance the customer experience in MSMEs in Cuenca.

“Impacto del clima organizacional en la productividad de las Empresas Públicas. Un estudio de caso en Asfaltar EP”
(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2025) Cumbe Palacios, Roberto Fabrizio; Ordóñez Zavala, Emilia Estefanía; Muñoz Castro , Priscila Elizabeth; 0151191160; 0105881288
This study examines the impact of organizational climate on productivity within public institutions. Using a quantitative approach, the public company ASFALTAR EP was analyzed through structural equation modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS software. Data was collected from 67 participants through a semi-structured questionnaire. The results indicate that the climate and productivity of the organization are strongly and significantly correlated. Productivity was mainly affected by the climate in the workplace, which accounted for 87% of the effect. The most influential aspects of the organizational climate included mutual respect among colleagues (0.765), clarity in task assignments (0.729), and peer support (0.707). As for productivity, the highest contributing factors were performance outcomes (0.979) and personal motivation (0.948). In conclusion, the research confirms the hypothesis that a positive organizational climate is a prerequisite for the institution's efficiency and performance. It is recommended that the main public Ecuadorian organizations should enhance their internal communication, explicit recognition, and empathetic leadership to increase productivity, thereby contributing to sustainable growth. The understanding of socio-hygienic behavior in the Ecuadorian public sector could be enhanced if future research includes variables such as corporate culture, job satisfaction, and leadership styles.

“El clima laboral como factor determinante para una eficiente gestión administrativa en el sector del calzado. Caso empresa AGUIMASHOES”
(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2025) Calderón Muñoz , Sebastián Federico; Priscila Elizabeth , Muñoz Castro; 0103948030
This study used a quantitative-descriptive analysis to examine the work environment as a determining factor for efficient administrative management at Aguima Shoes, a footwear company in Cuenca, Ecuador. To this end, a semi-structured survey was administered to thirty-two workers using the SmartPLS tool. The instrument was applied to the entire study population and in a single session; therefore, there was no intentionality in the sampling. In addition, this analysis included a state-of-the-art review to operationalize terms, standardize concepts and approaches, and compare case studies across the Ecuadorian, Latin American, and global contexts. All reference material (books, articles, and technical reports) were drawn from specialized sources. The research results determined that the internal climate of an organization is a key factor in staff motivation and, therefore, a determining factor in business achievements.

(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2025) Nuñez del Arco Minchala , Mateo Andrés; Espinoza Pillaga , Héctor Alejandro; 0105263784
Following the COVID-19 health crisis, the implementation of digital technology in the tourism sector has emerged as a fundamental pillar for promoting destinations, increasing presence, and consolidating tourism strategies. However, a slight digital gap is reflected in companies in the city of Cuenca, Ecuador, belonging to this sector, along with a lack of digital platforms for tourist attractions and insufficient analysis for decision-making. The purpose of this research study is to determine the impact of the adoption of digital technologies on the operational growth of tourism companies in Cuenca through the use of a mixed-mehtod, descriptive research approach. The study involves 24 companies registered with the Superintendence of Companies, Securities, and Insurance, under the economic activity of "Accommodation services provided by hotels, suite hotels, aparthotels, tourist complexes, inns". Through the use of a multiple linear regression technique, it is determined that the magnitudes of the independent variables (Digital Technologies, Customer Experience, Digital Services, and Internal Management and Operations) positively influence the Operational Growth of the aforementioned organizations. It is concluded that it is important to adopt digital technology from an integral approach with established procedures, qualified personnel, and an effective operational structure.

“Estudio de los procesos y tendencia de importación y comercialización del sector ferretero en la ciudad de Cuenca - Ecuador. Año 2020-2023.”
(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2025) Lavanda Medina , Ivo Xavier; Astudillo Arias , Pedro Yamil; 1104664485
This paper analyzes the hardware industry in Cuenca, Ecuador, which has experienced a remarkable growth between 2020 and 2024 due to the expansion of the construction sector, the modernization of agriculture, and globalization. This research analyzes the impact of imports and commercialization in three key segments: General Hardware, Agriculture, and Heavy Machinery, identifying trends, challenges, and opportunities. The study follows a descriptive and quantitative approach, using data on sales, prices, and products of the company Lartizco. Statistical tools such as simple linear regression and market projections were applied to evaluate the relationship between prices and sales, as well as competitiveness in the sector. The results show that imports have allowed access to more innovative and competitive products, while national brands have strengthened their presence through differentiation strategies in service and financing. Brands such as Herragro, Gavilán, and Strong have consolidated their positioning through quality and price strategies. Regression analysis showed a positive relationship between price and sales growth, with an R² coefficient of determination above 65% in certain categories, indicating that customers value competitive prices. Furthermore, extended warranties, accessible financing, and technical advice have been decisive factors in the commercialization, especially for heavy machinery and specialized tools. It is concluded that modernization, digitalization, and diversification will be essential to strengthening the sector’s competitiveness in a globalized market.

“Evaluación de la Percepción de la Calidad del Servicio y su Impacto en la Satisfacción del Cliente: Un Estudio de Caso en el Bar Restaurante 'Como en Casa Street Food' en el Cantón Paute”
(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2025) Condo Once, Diana Lizbeth; Espinoza Pillaga , Héctor Alejandro; 0105891196
This study evaluated the perception of service quality and its impact on customer satisfaction at the "Como en Casa Street Food" bar restaurant in Paute. Key service quality dimensions, such as security, reliability, empathy, responsiveness, and tangibles, were analyzed using a quantitative survey approach. The results revealed that security is the most influential variable in customer satisfaction, with a significant impact (p < 0.0001) and an explanatory power of 30%. Overall satisfaction also showed a significant effect (p = 0.0021), indicating that improvements in dimensions such as reliability and empathy are crucial for the overall perception of the service. Differences in satisfaction were identified according to age groups, highlighting that older adults value safety more, while young adults have inverse perceptions. Despite the availability of delivery services, most customers prefer to enjoy the experience on-site. It is recommended that management implement safety audits, standardized protocols, and soft skills training to improve service quality and foster customer loyalty. This study provides a solid basis for understanding the relationship between service quality and customer satisfaction in the restaurant sector.

“Incidencias socioeconómicas del proyecto comunitario Chaullayacu de Guachapala-Azuay, año 2023.”
(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2025) Sánchez Sánchez , Claudia Cecilia; López Castillo, John Edwin; 0107048951
The research aimed to identify the socioeconomic impact of the “Chaullayacu” Community Project in Guachapala, Azuay, 2023, with a focus on its influence on the quality of life of the beneficiary population. A mixed-methodological approach with a non-experimental cross-sectional design was employed, utilizing a questionnaire administered to a purposively selected sample of 23 individuals. Descriptive statistics were used for data analysis with the SPSS software, and the reliability of the instrument was assessed using Cronbach's alpha coefficient, which obtained a score of 0.887, indicating excellent reliability. The findings showed that the project had a greater impact on the social sphere than on the economic one, highlighting improvements in social cohesion, community participation, and the emotional wellness of families. Likewise, activities such as training and the construction of the iconic "World's Longest Plow" generated a commitment from community leaders to address migration issues and promote sustainable development. Finally, it was concluded that the project has strengthened the social fabric and improved the quality of life of the beneficiaries; however, it is necessary to continue promoting initiatives that positively impact the economic benefits. Furthermore, it is recommended that training and promoting collaborative work between the community and institutions continue to ensure the long-term success of the implemented initiatives and minimize family migration.

“Influencia de la cultura cooperativa en el compromiso, desempeño y satisfacción laboral en cooperativas de ahorro y crédito en Cuenca-Ecuador, periodo 2021-2023.”
(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2025) Solá Crespo , Diego Santiago; Cantos Ochoa , Marcos Eduardo; 0104512496
The sharing economy, which in theory should promote collaboration and teamwork, has currently given rise to economic models prioritizing maximizing production and efficiency over employee well-being. In this sense, this study aims to establish the impact of cooperative culture on the commitment, performance, and job satisfaction of employees at Savings and Credit Cooperatives in Cuenca, Ecuador, from 2021 to 2023. For this analysis, a quantitative methodology was applied to determine the dimensions of cooperative culture: solidarity, democracy, autonomy and self-management, training and education, and social commitment. It also explains how these factors impact the work performed within these organizations. The findings revealed that autonomy and self-management, as well as training and education, are closely linked to employee commitment, performance, and satisfaction. This reinforces the idea that a cooperative culture is an alternative for improving motivation, productivity, and workplace satisfaction. In designing management strategies, the results of this study provide a more practical framework for creating an optimized work environment and improving the operational performance of credit unions in the local context.

(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2024) Bravo Guaraca , Edison Edmundo; Calle Masache, Oscar Rene; 0605469535
This study analyzes the economic and social context of all grain traders in the canton of Cuenca, Ecuador, and evaluates the reliability of the survey used. The Gross Value Added (GVA) of cereal production and the rural unemployment rate, which was 1.3% until April 2024, were examined. Additionally, a survey was administered to traders in six markets in Cuenca to obtain data on the distribution of vendors, type of trader (retailer or wholesaler), experience, product variety, restocking times, and customer acquisition strategies. The results indicate that the Mercado “3 de Noviembre” has the highest percentage of vendors, most of whom are retailers with over 10 years of experience, and profit margins do not exceed 20%. The reliability of the questionnaire, initially low (α = 0.46), improved to 0.81 after adjusting the variables. The study provides a detailed overview of the grain sector in Azuay and validates the questionnaire used, highlighting the importance of adjusting data collection tools to enhance their accuracy.

This research focuses on designing a comprehensive administrative process for the import company Global Diesel, based in Cuenca, Ecuador. Founded in 2020, the company has positioned itself as a benchmark in the country's import and distribution of spare parts for heavy machinery Mercedes Benz. However, the lack of a formalized administrative system has led to operational and financial inefficiencies compromising its sustained growth due to identified issues such as the absence of standardized procedures, inadequate inventory management, and reactive decision-making. Therefore, a structured administrative model that encompasses the stages of planning, organization, direction, and control is proposed. The aim is to optimize internal processes, improve efficiency in the supply chain, strengthen data-driven decision-making, and ensure the quality of the services offered through the implementation of this model. The expected benefits of this research include increased productivity, reduced operational costs, improved customer satisfaction, and greater responsiveness to market demands. With a well-defined administrative process, Global Diesel will be better equipped to face the challenges of the sector and consolidate its position as a leader in the heavy machinery spare parts market in Ecuador.

This work focuses on analyzing job creation by popular and solidarity sector associations in Zone 6 of Ecuador. Key patterns and characteristics that distinguish associations based on their capacity to generate full employment were identified through multivariate analysis techniques such as Multiple Component Analysis and clustering. The results show that certain clusters of associations, characterized by their affiliation with social security, legal benefits, and types of contracts, have a greater influence on job creation. Furthermore, the relationship between each cluster and the type of association is highlighted, leading to the main finding that agricultural associations are predominant in the first cluster, associations related to food, cleaning and maintenance, and textiles in the second cluster, while agricultural, food and textile associations dominate the third cluster. This allows for a better understanding of these organizations' role in the local economy. It can be stated that, although associativity has had a positive impact on job creation, the evidence shows that the research hypothesis regarding the creation of full employment is not fully achieved, as this depends much more on other factors such as investment levels, benefits characteristic of formality, and the implementation of public policies to strengthen less developed associations. This study provides a solid foundation for future research and the design of public policies to enhance the popular and solidarity sector.
