Item type: Ítem , Access status: Acceso Abierto , Propuesta de diseño de señalética del Complejo Pumapungo integrando elementos de tecnología interactiva(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2025) Asanza Cedillo, Chiara Lisbeth; Estévez Abad, Fausto Giovanny; 0704847086This research project arose from the need to develop a signage system to help visitors navigate the Pumapungo Complex as they explore its various exhibition halls and the Archaeological Park. This project is necessary to improve the corporate image of the Pumapungo Complex, as there is almost no communication signage to help guide visitors. Currently, the existing signage is unattractive and non-functional, lacks consistency, and is aesthetically unappealing. For these reasons, it is important to improve the signage to contribute to the organization and coherent presentation of the museum, improving the efficiency and aesthetics of the space. Clear and well-placed signage will improve the overall visitor experience, making it more enjoyable and satisfying. In addition, the development of this system aims to integrate contemporary design elements and interactive technologies to create a more dynamic and inclusive experience. By incorporating graphic, typographic, and digital resources, the aim is to reinforce the complex’s visual identity and strengthen its value as a cultural space. The proposal not only responds to a functional need but also to an educational one, guiding and conveying relevant information about the site’s historical and archaeological heritage.Item type: Ítem , Access status: Acceso Abierto , Rediseño multifuncional de la sala de exposiciones temporales del Museo Pumapungo mediante la metodología de Bruno Munari(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2025) Lata Rodríguez, Christopher Ismael; Estévez Abad, Xavier Estuardo; 0106354087The thesis focuses on redesigning the temporary exhibition hall of the Pumapungo Museum, aiming to create an ergonomic, functional space that addresses existing problems through multiple solutions. Currently, the hall lacks multifunctional equipment, which reduces its quality and usability. The use of such systems is recommended to encourage visitor engagement, transforming the into a multifaceted and modern . However, the hall clearly and concisely shows evident shortcomings in how the museum's exhibition equipment is updated and adapted. Although the lighting is adequate, it does not meet standards due to the room’s electrical and functional design. The exhibition space is clean and orderly, allowing visitors to appreciate the artworks. However, factors such as the ceiling with exposed construction elements and the construction of the movable walls have a negative impact on the area. For this reason, this proposal aims to incorporate multifunctional solutions, improve lighting efficiency, and enhance the space’s quality and aesthetics. The objective of this development is to create a rich, engaging, and modern experience for the every day visitors of this place, thereby improving the image of the Pumapungo Museum.Item type: Ítem , Access status: Acceso Abierto , Diseño de espacios lúdico – sensoriales para niños en el Museo Pumapungo(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2025) Hoyos Guzhñay, Domenica Tatiana; Estévez Abad, Fausto Giovanny; 0105154389This project focuses on designing playful-sensory spaces for child visitors of the Pumapungo Museum in the city of Cuenca. The purpose of this proposal is to generate an appropriate and child-friendly museographic environment that fosters active interaction and learning of the cultural content housed in this important institution through activities that integrate available sensory and pedagogical stimuli. This will help satisfy the institutional need for spaces that promote participation and learning through play. Similarly, it is of vital importance to highlight that to meet the objectives, actions and procedures were developed involving theoretical research and spatial analysis. These helped to conceptualize and develop methodologies that adapt to the intervened spaces and themes, as well as in the design of these spaces, basing their characterization on other places of similar conditions as reference structures. Likewise, both inductive and deductive research were combined to achieve solid elements and theories that strengthen this proposal in the cultural conceptualization referring to the Cañari Culture. This project aims to generate a design proposal that integrates the use of materials, space functionality, chromatics, ergonomics, and anthropometry in the conception of an appropriate, but above all, aesthetically functional, and playful-sensory area, that enhances the museum experience for children.Item type: Ítem , Access status: Acceso Abierto , Rediseño interior del Centro de Educación Inicial Totoracocha en Cuenca, mediante el Método Waldorf(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2025) Brito Orellana, Bayron Cesar; Estévez Abad, Xavier; 0103767935This project focuses on developing an interior redesign for the Totoracocha Early Education Center, located in Cuenca. Using the Waldorf education method to generate a functional and dynamic environment, the proposal is based on creating an interior design model for the center that provides a suitable environment for students and educators. In addition, a theoretical and architectural investigation of the essential elements of the educational center was conducted, and the topics were combined with the Waldorf methodology to develop a design proposal that incorporates the key elements to create a functional and playful space. It is important to highlight that the Waldorf methodology focuses on the creation of a learning environment that encourages independence, freedom with boundaries, and respect for the child's physical, social, and psychological development. Therefore, the space design should reflect these principles and may include the creation of defined learning areas, the use of child-friendly furniture and materials, and the incorporation of natural and sustainable elements.Item type: Ítem , Access status: Acceso Abierto , Propuesta de diseño interior interactiva de la Biblioteca Víctor Manuel Albornoz del Museo Pumapungo(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2025) Jarama Ramón, Tatiana Gissela; Estévez Abad, Fausto Giovanny; 0107358863The “Víctor Manuel Albornoz” Library is part of the “Pumapungo” Museum in the city of Cuenca. This institution belongs to the Ministry of Culture and Heritage. It is considered an important component in storing and preserving the historical, intellectual, and cultural heritage of the city and the Ecuadorian region. Its primary function was to become an educational space for the museum's visitors; however, its evolution has led it to be considered a cultural research center. Considered a site of relevance, a spatial analysis has shown that the institution is in an inappropriate functional and aesthetic state and is not adapted to meet the population's needs. Therefore, an interactive interior redesign has been proposed to provide comfort for library visitors and administrative staff, incorporating a technological approach linked to the digital era. The methodological process used was based on Bruce Archer's model, considering research aspects and international and local references to generate a new proposal using ergonomic and comfortable elements, applying an eclectic style based on Wabi Sabi and contemporary trends, tailored to the institution's context and the museum.Item type: Ítem , Access status: Acceso Abierto , Proyecto de Titulación embargado con fines de publicación de impacto.(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2024) Rey Vidal, Mauricio Patricio; Llivicura Piedram, Jhonson Patricio; 1900778695; García CalleItem type: Ítem , Access status: Acceso Abierto , Rediseño de los espacios pedagógicos y la adecuación del mobiliario en un Centro de Desarrollo Infantil.(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2024) Yascaribay Mora, Jorge Vinicio; Estévez Abad, Xavier; 0302313689; Anthony AlxanderThe research focuses on the "Redesign of Pedagogical Spaces and Furniture Adaptation in a Child Development Center (CDC)." Issues related to chromatics, materiality, and spatial distribution are identified after analyzing current limitations in furniture and spaces. The proposal aims to enhance the comprehensive development of children by creating a safe and stimulating educational environment, considering safety standards, ergonomics, functionality, and aesthetics in space design. The intervention targets specific areas, such as maternity rooms, dining areas, food preparation areas, and offices, in an attempt to optimize interaction and children's learning. Wood is emphasized as a critical element that provides texture and warmth and enriches the interior design of the CDC. Inspired by contemporary style with the theme "Nature," a visual and functional balance is sought in the conception of spaces. The furniture is strategically adjusted to harmonize with the environment, using wood in aesthetic and functional ways. Priority is given to ergonomic design adapted to children’s needs according to their anthropometry. In summary, the proposal addresses existing limitations and lays the groundwork for improved pedagogical environments tailored to child development in the CDC.Item type: Ítem , Access status: Acceso Abierto , Proyecto de Titulación embargado con fines de publicación de impacto.(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2024) Barros Mejía, Luis Omar; Gómez Carrión, , Silvia Catalina; 0106439714; García CalleItem type: Ítem , Access status: Acceso Abierto , Diseño ecológico de paradas alternas de bus para la ciudad de Loja(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2018) Lozano Quituizaca, Raul Romario; Estévez Abad, Xavier; 110602351-6Item type: Ítem , Access status: Solo Metadatos , Readecuación y Diseño de Espacios Exteriores de la Unidad Académica de Ingeniería Civil, Arquitectura y Diseño(Universidad Católica de Cuenca.
