Arquitectura y salud: anteproyecto de un centro de salud para la Parroquia Sucre - Cuenca

Abstract

National and international architectural typologies are identified through research conducted at medical centers using direct and indirect observation techniques. This detailed study has served as the basis for creating the preliminary design of a type "B" Health Center. The proposal has been developed considering internal and external hospital security features and the search for optimal spatial comfort conditions for patients, assistants, and all the staff that will work in the institution. The preliminary design of this project has been developed to respond to the site conditions, which implies considering urban, epidemiological, statistical, and interpretative factors that are suitable for the success and effectiveness of the building. The location is in the Sucre parish, Cuenca canton, Azuay province, selected based on identifying the lack of health facilities in this geographical area. The preliminary project seeks not only to meet the need for medical care in the sector but also to improve the quality of life of its inhabitants by providing closer access to a public service.
