the research on epiphanies of food sovereignty in the life quality concerning the covid-19
in ecuador. it was conducted in the city of cuenca and aimed to analyze the food sovereignty
in ecuador and its impact upon the life quality of the inhabitants in the face of the covid-19
pandemic. regarding the methodology, it had both an exploratory and descriptive level; the
approach was qualitative and cross-sectional, the utilized technique was the semi-structured
interview, having as an instrument, an interview questionnaire. the results allowed knowing
closely the reality lived by the people through the voice of leaders of collectives related to
the thematic approach, and from different parishes. it was possible to identify the epiphanies
of food sovereignty in the life quality of the inhabitants of ecuador in times of covid19. on
the other hand, the lack of follow-up by the state in terms of projects that support the
agricultural sector was known. the main conclusions showed that the covid-19 pandemic had
negative effects upon food sovereignty and, consequently, upon the quality of life of the
inhabitants owed to the confinement without a plan of greater scope to strategic areas, such
as those that provide food to the country.

La investigación sobre epifanías de la soberanía alimentaria en la calidad de vida frente al
covid-19 en Ecuador. Fue realizada en la ciudad de Cuenca, tuvo como objetivo Analizar la
soberanía alimentaria en Ecuador y su incidencia en la calidad de vida de los habitantes frente
a la pandemia COVID-19. Respecto a la metodología, tuvo un nivel exploratorio y
descriptivo; el enfoque fue cualitativo de corte transversal, las técnicas utilizadas fueron la
entrevista semiestructurada teniendo como instrumento un cuestionario de entrevista. Los
resultados permitieron conocer de forma cercana la realidad vivida por las personas a través
de la voz de dirigentes de colectivos relacionados con la temática abordada y de diferentes
parroquias. Se puso identificar las epifanías de la Soberanía Alimentaria en la calidad de vida
de los habitantes del Ecuador en tiempos de COVID-19; por otra parte, se conoció la falta de
seguimiento del estado frente a proyectos que apoyan al sector agropecuario. Las principales
conclusiones evidenciaron que la pandemia COVID-19 tuvo efectos negativos en la
soberanía alimentaria y consecuentemente en la calidad de vida de los habitantes debido al
confinamiento sin un plan de mayor alcance hacia zonas estratégicas como las que proveen
alimento al país
