Establish the variability grade between the anthropometric method vs Knebelman craniometric method for the determination of vertical dimension in partial and total edentulous patients, attending the dental care centers of the Universidad Católica de Cuenca sede Azogues, during the period May-November of 2018. Material and methods: Was a quantitative, observational, cross-sectional and field-based study, with a population of 200 adults, the statistical analysis was performed by obtaining averages and standard deviation, and the use of the paired t test. Results: Within the study there were more women (73%), most of the patients were between 41-60 years of age and had a higher percentage of patients with partial edentulism, no significant differences were found between the two methods. Conclusions: There are no significant differences between both methods, the Knebelman method showed less variability among its average measures.
