Course objective: To determine the cultural practices of women in the stage of pregnancy, childbirth and puerperium in the rural parishes of Cantón Azogues. Universe: 420 women in the gestation and puerperium stage belonging to the eight rural parishes of the Cantón Azogues. Sample: 200 women using the Epidat Softwar. Type of study: quantitative, descriptive and transversal. Methodology: Surveys. Result: The age between 31 and 35 years correspond to 24% of the population, 56.5% are engaged in domestic chores, 62.5% have primary education and 31.5% plan both months, 14% have two children and use an implant. 100% of the population visits the midwife and medical check-ups are performed, 51% have presented urinary tract infection during pregnancy, most women use chamomile in pregnancy and water from Paraguay in the puerperium. Conclusion: Although society is modernized, women retain cultural practices in pregnancy and diet.
