Ítem Acceso Abierto El sedentarismo y mal uso de la tecnología en adolescentes: revisión bibliográfica(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2025) León Molina, Franklin Gonzalo; Guillén Campoverde, Leonardo Fabián; 0302743299The excessive use of technology during adolescence is a global phenomenon that contributes to increased sedentary behavior and may negatively affect the health of younger individuals. This research aims to explore the influence of excessive use of technology on the increase of sedentary behavior among adolescents through a literature review of existing studies. This study aims to provide a deeper understanding of the health implications associated with this phenomenon in younger populations. This study employs a bibliographic methodological design, using 45 research studies collected from various institutional and scientific repositories. After applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, a final sample of nine documents directly addressing the research objective was selected. The findings reveal that prolonged and passive use of technology displaces essential physical activities necessary for healthy development, encouraging sedentary behaviors. These behaviors are associated with physical health issues, such as musculoskeletal pain, and may negatively impact psychological and social well-being. In conclusion, prolonged time in front of digital devices reduces the time available for physical activity, which can trigger problems such as elevated body mass index and an increased tendency for persistent sedentary behaviors. This relationship highlights the urgency of addressing the excessive use of technology and promoting active habits in young people, especially to prevent health problems that could extend into adulthood. Additionally, it promotes the learning of rules and impulse control, positively impacting their quality of life in terms of health, mood, and academic performance. The lack of physical activity is one of the leading causes of disease development in children, adolescents, and adults. This study aims to address the needs of schoolchildren by analyzing the influence of Physical Education on the quality of life of students in the middle basic education sublevel at San Francisco de Peleusí de Azogues Basic Education School. This research is descriptive, with a cross-sectional design and a quantitative approach. The KIDSCREEN-27 questionnaire, previously validated in Latin American children, was used as a data collection instrument. The study population was determined as schoolchildren of the middle basic education sublevel of the aforementioned institution through a simple random probabilistic sampling method. The sample comprised 50 participants, equally distributed between twenty-five boys and twenty-five girls. In conclusion, physical activity positively influences the quality of life of schoolchildren in the middle basic education sublevel at the San Francisco de Peleusí de Azogues Basic Education School. Keywords: physical activity, quality of life, child health, schoolchildren, academic performance.Ítem Acceso Abierto La motivación en las clases de Educación Física en escolares: revisión bibliográfica(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2025) Munzón Parra, Diego Fernando; Guillén Campoverde, Leonardo Fabián; 0301641924Lack of motivation is a key factor influencing students' unwillingness to fully engage in Physical Education, leading to a decline in interest in the subject. Therefore, through a literature review, this study aimed to analyze the different factors and types of motivation that influence schoolchildren during Physical Education classes. This review highlights the types of motivation and the factors affecting Physical Education classes. The methodology involved a literature review of articles in Spanish published in the last ten years from open- access databases such as Google Scholar, SciELO, Redalyc, Web of Science, and Scopus, using the following terms: motivation, Physical Education, and teaching style. The most notable findings indicate that teachers' instructional methodology is crucial in making Physical Education classes more engaging, reducing demotivation, and increasing students' willingness to participate actively. In conclusion, the most significant factor was the teacher's instructional methodology, whose ability is to create a motivational environment and generate meaningful and collaborative learning. This, in turn, enhances students' attraction to participating in Physical Education. These issues increase the risk of chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension in adulthood, highlighting the importance of prevention, early detection, and timely treatment. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of overweight and obesity among high school students at the San Sebastián de Solano Educational Unit, this was carried out using the methodology which consists of applying Using a descriptive, cross-sectional design during the 2022-2023 academic year, BMI was calculated to categorize 60 participating students aged 15 to 17 who agreed to participate through the informed consents given to their representatives . Variables such as age, gender, weight, height, and body fat percentage were recorded. The primary results revealed that most students were overweight (36.7%) and obesity (13.3%). Body fat percentage was higher among females than males in the overweight and obese categories, These data could be collected by applying the IPAQ. In conclusion, both genders showed levels of overweight, obesity, and high body fat values, representing long-term risk factors. Early identification of these levels can be crucial for preventing cardiovascular diseases. Keywords: obesity, prevalence, overweight, Body Mass Index
