- ÍtemAcceso AbiertoAtención de enfermería y aplicación de los principios bioéticos en pacientes internos en el hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso, mayo-octubre 2018(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2018) Marca Remache, Manuel Jesús; Estrella González, María de los Ángeles; 0302317359; ., .Bioethical principles should be applied in nursing practice in order to improve the health and quality of life of patients, in the present investigation it is intended to analyze the application of bioethical principles in nursing care in patients hospitalized in Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital, May - September 2018, descriptive quantitative study, cross-sectional, observational cohort, with a sample of 44 professionals, a survey and an observational record were applied (instruments applied at the National University of Chimborazo 2015). Results: 90.9% corresponds to female staff, only 9.1% is male. 34.1% of professionals work less than a year, between one and two years 27.3% and more than two years between 18 to 20%; 100% know the bioethical principles; 81.8% of professionals provide information while 18.2% indicate that they are not authorized to provide information. With regard to informed consent, 68.1% provide complete information, and less than 18% of professionals do not; 100% know the rights of patients, only 79.5% indicated more than three rights of the five described, while, 20.5% indicated less than three or none. The nursing activities observed in their entirety respond to: Always performed, sometimes and never, with percentages similar to 50%. Concluding that the results of the survey in comparison with the results of the observational record, carry different responses to what was indicated by the professional and what was observed by the researcher.

Objective: To analyze the degree of knowledge of hypertension among nursing personnel in the scientific literature. Methods: A systematic review was conducted using the PRISMA statement; the search was performed through information tolos such as PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Redalyc, SciELO, and LILACS, in the last five years. Results: The review of the scientific literature included 91 studies found, of which 36 studies were analyzed, in which 36.1% of the publications belonged to the PubMed database, 19.4% to Web of Science, 16.7% to Scopus, 13.9% to Redalyc, 8.3% to SciELO and 5.6% to LILACS. Nursing professionals know about arterial hypertension, and they also identify the etiology, as well as the correct way to measure blood pressure.

General objective: Identify the level of knowledge held by teachers of the Catholic University of Cuenca on Sexual Rights and Reproductive Rights. Type of research: A quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional and prospective study was carried out. Universe: We counted on the collaboration of 608 teachers. Technique: The level of knowledge was evaluated through the application of a survey and the assessment according to the scale of measurement of Stanones. Results: 82.6% of the teachers are in a high level of knowledge, 10.2% in a medium level of knowledge and 7.2% in a low level of knowledge. Conclusion: A higher percentage of teachers surveyed is at a high level of knowledge. Recommendations: Although there is a high level of knowledge on the part of teachers, periodical training related to the subject is suggested, which allows to reinforce the knowledge they possess, as well as establish a relationship with gender, intercultural and inclusion approaches .
- ÍtemAcceso AbiertoConocimiento de los derechos sexuales y reproductivos de los/las estudiantes de la Universidad Católica de Cuenca, septiembre 2017 - enero 2018(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2018) Delgado Pinos, Carlota Eugenia; González Verdugo, Nancy Liliana; Estrella González, María de los Ángeles; 0301942983; 0301419503; ., .The objective of the research was to determine the level of knowledge of the students of the Catholic University of Cuenca on Sexual and Reproductive Rights; This topic is interesting and important, because when these rights are violated by the lack of information on the part of society, it has affected both men and women in the different life cycles, leading to possible wrong decisions and generating problems for short or long term, which is why we have decided to carry out this thesis. Study of quantitative, descriptive and transversal type, used the scientific and statistical method. The technique a questionnaire with closed questions applied by the ERP University System, self-administered, was applied to the population consisting of 12,708 students enrolled in the semester 2017 - 2018, undergraduate face-to-face modality, of which 3,951 conducted the survey. The results were: the level of knowledge about DS and DR, is low with 7.9 percent; average 79.25 percent, and high in 13.67 percent, there being a predominance of knowledge in the feminine sex; concluding that: it is satisfactory to state that favorable percentages have been found that identify that students have knowledge about this subject and that most of them know that they have this type of Rights; However, what shows the concern in this investigation is that there are still gaps in the background and values that support these Rights, being even more worrisome that the majority of students do not know where to turn if their Rights are violated at any time.

This research describes the experiences acquired from an intercultural approach by the nursing inmates of the Catholic University Sede Azogues and Cañar Extension. Quali-quantitative research, with narrative descriptive design, with a universe of 12 nursing interns, an interview was conducted with semistructured questions and a survey to know the perception of the inmates about the experiences, the career and the institutions to which it belonged. . The results describe the experiences lived from an intercultural approach, such as working in parallel with agents of traditional medicine, acquiring new knowledge about this practice, among others; also evidencing the respect towards their culture and beliefs. However, the perception of the inmates regarding the experiences reflected a favorable result with 50%; in relation to the career, 50% and 75% respectively indicated that the information received prior to the internship was good; while the time used for the tutorials was regular, evidenced with 50% and 75% respectively. Conclusion: Performing the internship in places other than the usual allowed to understand the importance of an intercultural approach in the field of health, working simultaneously with people knowledgeable in traditional medicine provides greater confidence and safety to the patient, despite the knowledge imparted prior At the boarding school they were not satisfactory, they allowed them to adapt to a new system of work and coexistence with the users and health personnel.

Methodology: A quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional study, the sample represented by 50 users and 20 providers of health, for the data collection a self-made survey was applied, validated in another group with the same characteristics, which consists of 12 questions. Results: 28% of the users have an age of 50 years, 62% correspond to the female sex, married marital status (60%), the level of instruction corresponds to secondary completed with one (46%). The (40%) are from rural areas, 60% in urban areas. 36% of people indicate that the use of traditional medicine does not harm health as drugs and 34% indicate that they have no scientific basis. 90% agree that traditional medicine be incorporated in health centers. 70% of the health personnel know the existence of a planning of activities in traditional medicine. 90% of users and 80% of health personnel agree that traditional medicine is incorporated into health centers as a therapeutic alternative. 42% of users and 65% of health personnel have received training in traditional medicine. 80% of health personnel know that there is a regulation that supports traditional medicine. Conclusions: The investigation allowed to know the cultural determinants that show the use of medicinal plants as a therapeutic alternative for the prevention and cure of diseases.

General Objective: To analyze the experiences of intercultural birth in women attended in the Basic Hospital of the Paute cantan, May-August 2018. Methodology: quantitative, descriptive, ethnographic and cross-sectional study. Sample: Consisted of 11 postpartum women taken in the Basic Hospital of the Paute cantan, the information obtained, coded, tabulated and analyzed through statistical graphs, identifying the problems that arise during intercultural delivery. Results: the age of women between 16-25 years old (45%), they are 100% mestizo ethnic group, 55% free un ion, 64% knowledge of the option of intercultural birth, a similar percentage refers to the lack of knowledge of benefits (64%), ignorance of the types of positions far childbirth 55%, 55% of postpartum women use the supine position to give birth, 64% of the staff does not allow them to choose the position, 55% of the staff never told them about the positions, only 10% of the staff gave them emotional support, 45% of the companions were present in the postpartum, of them represented 36% by the husband, 82% of the women were not shaved pubic hair, 64% believe that intercultural delivery prevents more natal and neonatal deaths, 91 % did not allow them to take natural waters befare childbirth, the same percentage, they asked them what they wanted to do with the placenta, 100% did not they allowed cort In the umbilical cord, 45% were delivered to the child at 5 minutes of age. Conclusion: In the basic Hospital of the Paute cantan, the protocols are not correctly applied at the moment of attending the intercultural delivery.

Objective: To determine the family functionality prevalence in depressed older adults in Guapán and San Miguel de Porotos parishes to generate public policies to increase family functionality. Methodology: Qualitative-quantitative, observational, analytical, and cross-sectional, correlational study; the sample was 274 older adults from Guapán parish and 216 from San Miguel de Porotos parish; two instruments were applied: The Perceived Family Functionality Scale (Family APGAR) and the Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale (CES-D). Results: Of the participants, 24.3% were older women, 26.5% were married, and 25.4% were from rural areas, 26.9% had primary education, 36.3% were Catholic, and 22% had a compound family type. A correlation between family functionality and depression (p=.001) was determined. It was found that family functionality in Guapán presented X̅= 19.4 points and in San Miguel de Porotos an X̅= 21.6 points; depression in Guapán an X̅=41.2 points and in San Miguel X̅= 40.4 points. Conclusion: Older adults in the two parishes tend to suffer from depression because of the family circle in which they live or because they have a dysfunctional family.
- ÍtemAcceso AbiertoTécnicas de atención en el embarazo, parto y posparto utilizadas por las comadronas, cantón Gualaceo, período septiemnbre 2019 - febrero 2020(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2020) Celdo Suña, Gloria Rocio; Peñafiel Vaca, Lía Narcisa; Estrella González, María de los Ángeles; 0302620471; 1401007404; .Objetivo: Determinar las técnicas de atención en el embarazo, parto y posparto utilizadas por las comadronas, en el cantón Gualaceo durante el período septiembre 2019 – febrero 2020. Metodología: Investigación cuali – cuantitativa, descriptiva transversal; aplicada a 70 comadronas del cantón Gualaceo; se utilizó un cuestionario estructurado y validado por expertas y prueba piloto. La tabulación de los resultados se efectuó con el programa SPSS 25, y se presentan en tablas simples, con frecuencias y porcentajes. Resultados: Población mayoritariamente adulta (64.3%), casadas (81.4%), residentes en la comunidad de Jadán (45.7%), etnia mestiza (94.3%), nivel bajo de escolaridad, entre primaria completa (45.7%) e incompleta (40%). Para determinar el sexo del niño, las comadronas observan la forma de la “barriga” (94.3%), para determinar la posición del niño utilizan la palpación de la “barriga” (77.1%). Conclusiones: El conocimiento y la experiencia sobre las diferentes técnicas ancestrales utilizadas en el embarazo, parto y posparto es el primer paso para integrar estas prácticas en esquemas alternativos de atención.

This problems have become a hidden reality for university students, and they have turned into a barrier that keeps them from successfully finishing their educational projects. For that reason, we have seen the need to carry out this study with the students of the “Catholic University of Cuenca”. General objective: to determine the types of bullying and harassment which can be present in the Catholic University of Cuenca in its Headquarters, venues and extensions. Type of research: quantitative approach, it is a descriptive, prospective and cross-sectional study. Universe: it consists of 12.616 students. Sample population: 373 students. A formula has been applied and the participants have been selected by conglomerates. Technique: a questionnaire has been used to detect the types of bullying and/or harassment. Results: 72% of the participants reported having suffered harassment. 38% corresponds to academic harassment, 28% of it is psychological and 7% is sexual. Conclusion: Bullying and harassment tendencies towards university students have been found at all the branches of the University in which the investigation was carried out.
- ÍtemAcceso AbiertoUso de la medicina alternativa y complementaria en pacientes oncológicos(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2022) Vintimilla Ortiz, Nube Janneth; González Lozano, Junior José; Estrella González, María de los Ángeles; 0302723010; 0302833710; ., .Introducción: El uso de la medicina alternativa y complementaria se ha vuelto común por los beneficios que ofrece a pacientes oncológicos porque disminuye reacciones adversas después de quimioterapias y sirve de analgesia, así lo comprueban diversos estudios. Objetivo: Analizar el uso de la medicina alternativa y complementaria en pacientes oncológicos. Metodología se rigió al modelo PRISMA utilizando bases de datos como Pubmed, Scopus, Web of Science y repositorio nacional, en donde se utilizó veinte y tres artículos que cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión como: revisión sistemática, correspondientes a los últimos 8 años, en idioma inglés y español, que respondan a las preguntas de investigación y objetivos propuestos y tengan enfoque cuantitativo y cualitativo. Las palabras claves, fueron redactadas acorde a los objetivos porque no se encontró resultados en los tesauros Mesh y Decs. Resultados: del total de estudios el 52% pertenecieron a Pubmed, 44% a Scopus y Web of Science y el 4% al repositorio de tesis. Respecto al impacto calidad, el Q1 fue el líder con un 65%, Q2 con un 26% y Q3 con el 9%, verificado por Scimago Journal Rank. Conclusión: la medicina alternativa y complementaria demostró tener mayor prevalencia en el continente asiático y fueron las prácticas religiosas el tipo de terapia más utilizada.
- ÍtemAcceso AbiertoUso de medicina herbaria para prevención y tratamiento del COVID-19(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2020) Aguayza Perguachi, Mayra Alexandra; Estrella González, María de los Ángeles; 0302717756; ., .El COVID-19 ha generado un gran impacto a nivel mundial desde marzo de 2020. Al tratarse de una nueva enfermedad crónica de carácter respiratorio, este virus se presenta como una amenaza para la salud pública. Actualmente, no se dispone de ningún medicamento capaz de tratar completamente los síntomas. El objetivo del estudio es determinar el uso de medicina herbaria para prevención y tratamiento del COVID-19 en las ciudades de Azogues y La Troncal. Se realizó un estudio descriptivo de corte transversal, no experimental. La muestra estuvo conformada por 744 individuos distribuidos en ambas ciudades de la provincia de Cañar, en Ecuador. Los datos fueron recolectados a través de la impartición de una encuesta sociodemográfica. Para el análisis estadístico y la tabulación de datos, se utilizó el programa INFOSTAT. Resultados: El 100.0% de la muestra expresó haber utilizado medicina herbaria durante los meses críticos de la pandemia, ya sea para evitar un contagio o contrarrestar los síntomas del coronavirus. A su vez, el 56.06% reconoció haber utilizado las hojas de eucalipto como principal ingrediente para la creación de insumos y medicamentos complementarios. Más del 34% llegó a utilizar medicina herbaria una vez por semana. El 64.13% utilizó el eucalipto a manera de prevención en la zona urbana. El 58.74% mantuvo un periodo de tratamiento de entre 7 a 20 días. En conclusión, un alto porcentaje de la población recurrió al uso de plantas medicinales como opciones viables para la prevención y tratamiento del coronavirus, donde más del 86% de encuestados calificó de efectiva a esta alternativa herbal.
- ÍtemAcceso Abierto“Validación de instrumento sobre prácticas de medicina ancestral alternativa y complementaria en la población 20 a 59 años”(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Sanchez González, Erika Priscila; Toalongo Amendaño, Blanca Jessica; Estrella González, María de los Ángeles; 0302442223; 0350019907; ., .Introduction: Ancestral, alternative, and complementary medicine (ACAM) is a set of techniques that aims to restore the body's bioenergetic balance based on traditional and natural methods. Objective: To validate an instrument on ACAM practices in the population aged 20 to 59 years in the Azogues canton. Method: It was a descriptive research, with a sample of 210 inhabitants. A survey on ACAM practices in the population aged 20 to 59 in the Azogues canton was applied. The SPSS 26 software was used for statistical analysis. Results: Most people who use these practices have been doing so for over two years. Twenty-one percent use these methods to treat colerín (acute and sudden attack of anger or rage, which may be accompanied by physical disturbances such as difficulty in breathing, headache or abdominal pain, fever, among others), 38% for mal de aire (transient health disorder, suffered especially by children and adolescents of weak constitution, characterized by nausea, pallor, cold sweating, and drop in blood pressure), and the mal de ojo (is a folk illness primarily affecting children, with infants being particularly vulnerable). The most commonly used methods were chiropractic, food medicine, and ancestral-traditional midwifery medicine. Thirty-seven percent use ACAM to prevent and alleviate ailments. Conclusion: ACAM is diverse and complex, and its implementation requires a careful approach. Although it may offer additional options for health care, it is essential to support its usage with solid scientific evidence.
- ÍtemAcceso AbiertoViolencia contra la mujer durante la pandemia por COVID-19 en la ciudad de Azogues(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2021) Andrade Guallpa, Jessica Paola; Cáceres Alao, Joselin Estefanía; Estrella González, María de los Ángeles; 0301976353; 0302703277; ., .Objetivos: Determinar la violencia contra la mujer durante la pandemia por COVID-19 en la ciudad de Azogues. Materiales y Métodos: Estudio cuantitativo, descriptivo, correlacional del corte transversal, con un diseño no experimental y prospectivo. Con un muestreo aleatorio simple con una participación de 185 mujeres (18-65 años) a través de una encuesta con variables sociodemográficas, y de escala de violencia de género contra la mujer frente al aislamiento por COVID-19 (EVG-19). Se ejecutó un análisis descriptivo mediante porcentajes, frecuencias, pruebas de normalidad mediante Shapiro Wilk /W), análisi de correlaci´ñon /Rho de Sperman) y análisis de diferencias de medias Prueba t de student y ANOVA. Resultados: la población de estudio evidencia mayor porcentaje de mujeres casadas (53%), residentes en el área urbana (70%) y con una media de edad 35,9. Los tipos de violencia con mayor relevancia fueron las violencias física y sexual (30,3%). La violencia física encontró una diferencia estadísticamente significativa con la residencia (t=3,14; gl=183; p=0, 001), y con un nivel de instrucción (f=2,12; gl=7, p=0,043), al comparar los tipos de violencia segín la edad, señala que la violencia física tiene relación con el tiempo de confinamiento (p=0,035), poe otra parte, la violencia sexual (p=0,013) se relaciona con la edad, se encintró relación estadísticamente significativa de la edad con la violencia patrimonial (p=0,035). Conclusiones: la investigación señala que 3 de cada 10 mujeres manifiestan que la violencia psicológica se encuentra(%).

Objective: Describe gender violence in women who attend the Azogues Health Center. Design: it is not experimental of descriptive, analytical, prospective and cross-sectional type; with quantitative approach. Participants: women 15 to 49 years old. Measurements: survey was designed that included sociodemographic factors and consisted 27 questions that collected data on the types of violence. Main results: Results were obtained from 351 women, where more than 50% belonged to the young adult population, residing mostly in the urban area, a large part is dedicated to household chores, a higher percentage of women with full secondary education, there is violence equity of 22.5%, psychological 45.6%, physical 20.8% and sexual 13.1%. There is a level of positive significance between age and marital status with patrimonial, psychological and physical violence; level of instruction with a level of negative significance related to heritage violence.
