Carencia afectiva paterna: repercusión en la transición a la adolescencia.

Abstract

Emotional deprivation is the absence of attention, security, protection, and affection from the parent or primary caregiver. As these basic human needs have remained unsatisfied, they have repercussions on the development of the human being. The objective was to analyze the consequences of the father's lack of affection in adolescence. The design with which the study was conducted refers to literature research, whose approach was qualitative and descriptive in scope, for the search and collection of information, scientific databases such as Scopus, SciELO, CAMJOL, Redalyc, Elsevier, Dialnet, Ovid, academic repositories, and the Digital Library of the Catholic University of Cuenca were selected for information retrieval, ensuring that the selected and analyzed articles met the quality standards. A total of 44 articles were used to fulfill this condition. The results demonstrated that the emotional deprivation experienced by children and adolescents during their development comes from the paternal figure. This, in turn, brings psychological, familial, and social repercussions. The care style and the affection individuals receive from birth are crucial determinants of their future social participation.
