| dc.description | La ciudad de Cuenca cuenta con gran riqueza arquitectónica y cultural, trascendental para el territorio. Al revisar los materiales de las edificaciones del Centro Histórico, se determina que un gran porcentaje incorporaban cal como material de construcción, comúnmente como mortero de juntas, o recubrimiento, y/o decoración. Posteriormente fue reemplazada por el cemento Portland, lo que generó su desuso como material de construcción. Con ello el oficio de generar la cal de forma artesanal fue en decremento, hasta épocas actuales en la que prácticamente ha desaparecido, y con él los conocimientos heredados y adquiridos de generación a generación, por lo que es urgente el salvaguardar, las experiencias, conocimientos y destrezas adquiridas por la población de la periferia y sectores rurales como Lazareto, para la fabricación de la cal. \nFinalmente, este documento recoge experiencias de personas que fueron participes en el proceso de su elaboración, además de reconocerlos como sus proveedores, con los que cuenta las casas que son parte de nuestro Patrimonio. | es_ES |
