Diseño de una propuesta arquitectónica del nuevo Mercado Minorista en la Parroquia Machángara, sector Ochoa León

Abstract

The Research Project is based on the Land Use and Management Plan of the Municipality of Cuenca and the ‘El Barranco’ Organization to make a design proposal for a retail market in the peri-urban area of the Machángara parish because there is no infrastructure for the development of commercial activities in the area and on the other hand, to prevent the displacement of the population towards the city center. Consequently, the research begins with a literature review to determine the theoretical-architectural guidelines applicable to the design proposal through case studies and normative regulations. Subsequently, the immediate context is analyzed to determine the design parameters to be incorporated into the project. Finally, the user's needs in the area are analyzed through the pre-feasibility studies provided by the ‘El Barranco’ Organization. The results obtained from the research include the application of functionality criteria to generate habitable spaces for commercial activity.
