Anteproyecto arquitectónico del terminal terrestre intermodal para el cantón Logroño, Morona Santiago, con enfoque en la biofilia

Abstract

This graduation project aims to develop the architectural design, at the preliminary project level, of a new intermodal bus terminal for the canton of Logroño, Ecuador. This project responds to the need for infrastructure that optimizes mobility and transportation, adopting biophilic design as its main approach. This approach seeks an architecture that reconnects humans with nature, understanding that the contact with the natural environment improves both the functionality of the space and the well-being of its users. In this regard, the proposal aims for the building to dialogue with the Amazonian context, generating a spatial experience that expresses harmony, comfort, and sense of belonging. The methodology was structured in three consecutive and complementary phases: first, research was conducted based on bibliographic sources and the analysis of architectural references to synthesize the design criteria of the biophilic approach; next, an urban and physical-environmental diagnosis of the site was carried out, which guided the project's proper implementation; finally, the formal, functional, and technological proposal was developed, applying the criteria established in the previous phases. The result was an architectural preliminary project represented through plans and renderings that guarantee an accessible, efficient, and comfortable infrastructure. The proposal transcends its operational function by configuring itself as a strategic node that strengthens regional connectivity and acts as an identity reference, demonstrating that an architecture linked to nature can become a driving force of social, environmental, and economic development for the canton.
