Resumen
Throughout time education, its practices, methodologies, and learning have evolved to such an extent that currently, the usage of new technologies in the teaching-learning process is fundamental to equip future professionals with improved tools in any field. This investigation aims at analyzing the 4.0 industry applied at the Catholic University of Cuenca, Cañar Campus. It was a qualitative investigation where surveys were carried out by means of a questionnaire applied to the students from the different faculties at the Catholic University of Cuenca, Cañar Campus, to determine the level of knowledge and management of new technologies in the educational field. Results show either some ambiguity or confusion related to the usage of 4.0 technology by the students from higher education levels; therefore, it seems that either there is little usage of such technology by the institution or both professors and students do not know about them. In conclusion, students recognize the importance of using 4.0 technology in the educational field, and they sense that the university contributes to an innovative and adaptive kind of thought, which opens up the possibility of insertion into society without any problems in a near future.

A lo largo del tiempo la educación ha ido evolucionando, sus prácticas, métodos y aprendizaje, haciendo que hoy en día sea fundamental la utilización de nuevas tecnologías para la enseñanza y aprendizaje, dando mejores herramientas para los futuros profesionales de cualquier rama. La siguiente investigación tiene como objetivo analizar la industria 4.0 aplicada en la Universidad Católica de Cuenca extensión Cañar, la investigación tuvo un carácter cualicuantitativo, se realizaron encuestas a través de un cuestionario aplicado a los estudiantes de las distintas carreras de la universidad Católica de Cuenca extensión Cañar, con el fin de determinar el nivel de conocimiento y manejo de las nuevas tecnologías en el ámbito educativo. Los resultados de este trabajo de investigación, muestran ciertas ambigüedades o confusiones en cuanto a la usabilidad de la tecnología 4.0 por parte de los estudiantes de educación superior, lo que indicaría el poco manejo que la institución le da a estas tecnologías o el desconocimiento de profesores y estudiantes en cuanto a su uso, concluyendo que los estudiantes reconocen la importancia del uso de la tecnología 4.0 en el ámbito educativo y perciben que la universidad aporta a un pensamiento innovador y adaptativo que les abre una posibilidad de insertarse a la sociedad sin problemas en un futuro.
