Principales riesgos en tejedoras de la asociación de toquilleras María Auxiliadora del cantón Sigsig septiembre 2018 - febrero 2019

Abstract

Objective: To identify the main risks that may affect the health of the weavers of the Association of Toquilleras María Auxiliadora of the Canton Sígsig. Methodology: Quantitative, transversal and prospective descriptive research. Universe and sample: All the straw weavers that are part of the Association of Toquilleras María Auxiliadora of the Caton Sígsig. Techniques: Survey Instrument: Survey form. Results: 24% of the weavers are between 51-60 years old, 79% have primary education, 56% are married, 67% of women have between 1-5 children, in relation to work experience 58 % is ≥ 40 years, 62% start weaving at the age of 5-10 years, 85% is manifested in that they remain too long seated, 52% that in the positions for the paper are not comfortable, 82% is dedicated to weaving between 1-7 hours a day, 56% thinks that the most adopted position is sitting; and the most frequent annoyance is back pain with 45%, 52 does its work in the bedroom, 99% needs lighting to weave, 68% has multiple discomfort in sight, to moisten the straw 53% points who used their hands, 60% know the treatment that straw receives, which 49% of societies have used chemicals, and 91% of women have general symptoms such as headaches and allergies. Conclusions: Straw weavers are exposed to the risks to their health from the years of experience, adoption positions and chemical products they use.
