Muscular dystrophy is a chronic health problem, for which there is no cure. The living conditions of these people are limited to the degree of progression of the disease. In many countries by the treatments and technological advances and care decreases the negative effects on the lives of these patients.\nMethods and procedures to be used in the study: work with a qualitative approach, through in-depth interviews and observation of facts. The patients studied in the parish Güel were 6. Working with a structured interview, which served as a guide during the interviews. The information was recorded, to then be transcribed to text and analyzed using the program Atlas.ti according the proposed codes such as: physical fitness, psychological wellbeing, mood and emotions, perception, autonomy, relationship with parents and family life, economic resources, friends and social support and education.\nResults: People with muscular dystrophy Güel the parish of the province of Azuay have a bad quality of life. At the time, all have limitations for walking, it is impossible. They feel pain in their arms, legs and back. The condition is progressive deterioration of motor function but still retain the intellectual. The level of dependence on three of them is total and the other three is serious. That is to say that need constant care and continuous in order to perform most activities. Do not have sufficient economic resources to be guaranteed the inputs, goods and basic tools and needed to be mobilized and perform daily activities. The families in their majority are dysfunctional, living with a single family. It is left alone when you have to go out to work. The communication is not the best since they had the feeling of being a burden to the family.
