Resumen
This study aims to elaborate an URBAN PERFORMANCE SPECIAL PLAN IN THE SIMÓN BOLÍVAR STREET: BETWEEN THE SERRANO AND TENEMAZA STREETS SECTION, IN AZOGUES CITY, this study is carried out as a prerequisite in order to obtaining the architect´s degree and it is framed in the lines of research established by the Research Center of Architecture and Urbanism faculty of the Catholic University of Cuenca Sede Azogues; it seeks to formulate strategies aimed to improve the functionality of the Simón Bolívar street, in Azogues.
To develop this research word, the theoretical and legal framework related to the proposed topic was reviewed and analyzed. For the diagnosis, the study area is delimited and it continues with the identification and characterization of the problems which are related to the deficient functionality of the Simón Bolívar Street, through collecting information, with property surveys, observation cards and photographic images.
Afterwards, general and specific objectives and strategies to solve the problems identified in the diagnosis were presented. Finally, as a result of the present study, the conclusions and recommendations are formulated.

EL PRESENTE TRABAJO TIENE COMO FINALIDAD ELABORAR UNA PLAN ESPECIAL DE ACTUACIÓN URBANA EN LA CALLE SIMÓN BOLÍVAR: TRAMO ENTRE LAS CALLES SERRANO Y TENEMAZA, EN LA CIUDAD DE AZOGUES, ÉSTE, SE DESARROLLA COMO REQUISITO PREVIO A LA OBTENCIÓN DEL TÍTULO DE ARQUITECTO Y SE ENMARCA EN LAS LÍNEAS DE INVESTIGACIÓN ESTABLECIDAS POR EL CENTRO DE INVESTIGACIÓN DE LA FACULTAD DE ARQUITECTURA Y URBANISMO DE LA UNIVERSIDAD CATÓLICA DE CUENCA SEDE AZOGUES; EL MISMO, BUSCA FORMULAR ESTRATEGIAS ORIENTADAS A MEJORAR LA FUNCIONALIDAD DE LA CALLE SIMÓN BOLÍVAR, EN LA CIUDAD DE AZOGUES.
PARA ELABORAR LA INVESTIGACIÓN SE REVISA Y ANALIZA EL MARCO TEÓRICO Y LEGAL RELACIONADO CON EL TEMA PROPUESTO; PARA EL DIAGNÓSTICO SE DELIMITA EL ÁREA DE ESTUDIO Y SE PROCEDE A IDENTIFICAR CARACTERIZAR Y JERARQUIZAR LOS PROBLEMAS RELACIONADOS CON LA DEFICIENTE FUNCIONALIDAD DE LA CALLE SIMÓN BOLÍVAR, MEDIANTE LA RECOPILACIÓN DE INFORMACIÓN, A TRAVÉS DE: ENCUESTAS PREDIALES, FICHAS DE OBSERVACIÓN Y TOMAS FOTOGRÁFICAS.
POSTERIORMENTE, SE PROCEDE A PLANTEAR OBJETIVOS GENERALES, ESPECÍFICOS Y ESTRATEGIAS PARA SOLUCIONAR LOS PROBLEMAS IDENTIFICADOS EN EL DIAGNÓSTICO. FINALMENTE, COMO RESULTADO DEL PRESENTE ESTUDIO, SE FORMULAN LAS CONCLUSIONES Y RECOMENDACIONES.
