Resumen
The present study focuses on the hydraulic evaluation of the Narrio dos drinking water distribution network of the Cañar canton, which supplies part of the urban and rural areas of the canton, made up of family homes, educational institutions, public institutions and restaurants. .
The drinking water matrix in the Cañar canton is made up of low-density polyethylene pipes from 1" to 4" and PVC pipes with a diameter of 63mm, 110mm and 160mm. The topography of the place under study is made up of critical zones, where the existing pressure in the drinking water matrix is of vital importance for its correct operation.
The evaluation of the network was carried out by recording consumption and pressure in homes in the study area, statistical analysis of data and modeling in a Software, the results found indicate that in the Byron Serpa citadel there is not enough pressure for the correct functioning of the sanitary devices inside the houses, while, in other points of the network, there are pressures that are within and above the limits recommended by current regulations, data that are reflected in the created pressure maps.
This research contains pressure maps of the area under study and establishes possible recommendations to improve the operation of the distribution network, mitigating existing problems due to low pressures, in order to improve the service provided to users, with future complementary studies on the subject.

El presente estudio se enfoca en la evaluación hidráulica de la red de distribución de agua potable Narrio dos del cantón Cañar, que abastece a parte de la zona urbana y rural del cantón, conformada por viviendas de uso familiar, instituciones educativas, instituciones públicas y restaurantes.
La matriz de agua potable en el cantón Cañar está constituida por tubería de polietileno de baja densidad de 1” a 4” y de PVC de 63mm, 110mm y 160mm de diámetro, la topografía del lugar en estudio está constituida por zonas críticas, en dónde la presión existente en la matriz de agua potable tiene vital importancia para su correcto funcionamiento.
La evaluación de la red se realizó mediante el registro de consumos y presiones en viviendas del área en estudio, análisis estadístico de datos y la modelización en un Software, los resultados encontrados indican que en la ciudadela Byron Serpa no existe la presión suficiente para el correcto funcionamiento de los aparatos sanitarios dentro de las viviendas, mientras que, en otros puntos de la red existen presiones que se encuentran dentro y sobre los límites recomendados por la normativa vigente, datos que son reflejados en los mapas de presiones creados.
La presente investigación contiene mapas de presiones de la zona en estudio y establece posibles recomendaciones para mejorar el funcionamiento de la red de distribución, mitigando los problemas existentes por presiones bajas, con el fin de mejorar el servicio que se brinda a los usuarios, con futuros estudios complementarios sobre el tema.
