Resumen
The apical displacement of the gingiva beyond the union is known as gingival recession. cement-enamel, the diagnosis of the gingival phenotype is important at the time of treatment planning a thin phenotype is less resistant which can lead to gingival recessions. OBJECTIVE: to determine the relationship between gingival recession and pendental phenotype. MATERIALS AND METHODS: a bibliographic search was carried out through scientific bases, where a total of 41 bibliographical references were obtained, included articles in English, Spanish and Portuguese, included clinical trials randomized and non-randomized and reviews. Clinical cases were excluded. CONCLUSIONS: The thin phenotype presents a higher risk of recession due to a less revascularization, the most affected teeth are canines and incisors lower.
