Item type: Ítem , Access status: Acceso Abierto , Innovación tecnológica aplicada y su contribución al crecimiento de las PYMES del Sector Comercial en el Cantón Sucúa.(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2025) Avilés Maruri, Marlon Joseph; Morales Pazmiño, Klever Alfonso; 1450274889This research analyzes how the application of technological innovation contributes to growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the commercial sector of Canton of Sucúa. SMEs represent a key economic segment, contributing approximately 13% to the national GDP and generating over 30% of formal employment. Due to the limited availability of local empirical research was to evaluate the impact of technological solutions on business growth. A non-experimental, cross-sectional correlational quantitative design was applied to 26 formally identified and registered SMEs in Sucúa. A 34-item survey using a five-point Likert scale was administered, validated by experts, and demonstrated high reliability. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlations, and multiple linear regression via SPSS. The findings indicate that digital marketing (β=0.697; p < 0.001) and inventory management (β=0.214; p < 0.05) are the most significant technological factors contributing to business growth. In contrast, other dimensions such as electronic invoicing and employee training require more concrete implementation processes to demonstrate their impact. These results underscore the need to prioritize investment in digital platforms and automated stock control systems, and support the development of public policies and continuous training programs that promote the digital transformation of SMEs in local contexts. A quantitative, descriptive, non-experimental, and cross-sectional methodology was employed, using a structured survey administered to 34 formal beef retail establishments. The results were processed statistically and interpreted through frequency analysis and measures of central tendency. The findings reveal that, although traders recognize the quality of their products and express a willingness to invest in digital strategies, they exhibit significant weaknesses in the use of technological tools such as geolocation, paid advertising, graphic design, and database management. These shortcomings limit their market reach, weaken customer loyalty, and demonstrate the absence of clear strategic planning. Therefore, it is concluded that the main barrier to digital positioning does not lie in traders’ perception of marketing itself, but rather in the lack of technical training and institutional support necessary to implement coherent, innovative, and sustainable actions. This justifies the formulation of recommendations focused on structured training, the creation of a digital visibility platform, and the co-financing of targeted advertising campaigns among organized traders. Methodologically, the study adopts a quantitative approach with a correlational and explanatory scope. Based on a survey of 220 cattle ranchers using a five-point Likert scale, the multiple regression model reveals a strong correlation, explaining 89.3% of the variability in industrialization, with a low standard error. Market access emerges as the most influential predictor, followed by investment/financing and innovation; associativity plays an indirect facilitating role. Women possess greater human capital and are at the forefront of cooperative forms, while most men operate independently, suggesting the need to leverage women's organizational capacity. The study highlights that, in the absence of predictable markets, accessible credit, and technology transfer, producers continue to sell live cattle, thus wasting potential added value. The study recommends multisectoral policies that combine subsidized credit lines, modular slaughterhouses, cold chains, continuous training, and incentives for deforestation-free premium niches. Furthermore, the importance of territorial governance and its alignment with Agricultural Public Policy is emphasized as essential for achieving sustainable, competitive, and socially inclusive industrialization. However, these businesses face various challenges that limit their growth and market longevity. The main objective of this study is to identify and analyze the factors affecting the sustainability of SMEs in the area. The purpose of this research is to examine the factors that influence the sustainability of small and mediumsized enterprises in the Morona canton. A qualitative approach was used, employing Likertscale surveys with 36 questions as data collection tools, applied to a sample of 50 representatives from SMEs in the canton. These businesses are the most well-known and frequently visited by the public. It is important to identify the factors that impact the sustainability of SMEs in Morona canton to propose strategies and policies that support their development and competitiveness. Additionally, document analysis and quantitative data from databases such as SUPERCIAS were utilized for data collection. The results revealed a variety of determinant factors affecting the sustainability of SMEs in Morona canton, including financial elements, profitability, the use of robust financing, innovation and technology, efficient resource management, and staff training. These factors are vital for the sustained growth and survival of SMEs.Item type: Ítem , Access status: Acceso Abierto , Proyecto de Titulación embargado con fines de publicación de impacto.(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2025) Vallejo Alcivar, Washington Ariel; Morales Pazmiño, Klever Alfonso; 1400725253Proyecto de Titulación embargado para publicación.
