Soil is one of the oldest materials in the world, there are different vernacular construction techniques, among them, those who are made of mud brick. This research consists of defining the adobe housing design guidelines, taking as a reference “San Miguel de Porotos” parish, through thermal comfort analysis, architectural features evaluation, and building construction. Some parameters are determined such as wall thickness, dimensions, shapes, area location, floor materiality, windows, ceiling, roof, and climate, to evaluate the thermal comfort in the Ecotect Software. According to the results, certain guidelines are proposed but enforcing the minimum dimensions of habitability and the range of comfort specified from 18°C to 26°C. Finally, the building guidelines are evaluated in a house that meets the proposed criteria and respond to current conditions of housing architecture.
