Influencia de la administración estratégica en las Pymes del sector comercial en el cantón Cuenca

Strategic management is a process of formulating, implementing, and executing strategies to align the organization with its mission through a series of actions and administrative directives. Given the presence of internal and external factors that impact the performance of SMEs and can be challenging to address when dealing with a small company, this article aims to analyze the influence of strategic management in SMEs in the commercial sector of Cuenca, Ecuador. The methodology was descriptive, correlational, non-experimental, and cross-sectional field research. The study population comprised 44 companies associated with the Chamber of Small Industry of Azuay (CAPIA for its Spanish acronym), and the information collected was grouped, categorized, and inferred using Spearman's Rho correlation coefficient in SPSS software. The results show that the leadership and strategic management approaches are presented at a medium level in the SMEs studied, while the planning approach is at low level. There is a moderate and strong correlation between the variables analyzed since business development requires managerial skills and implementing planning as a business management strategy.
