Ítem Acceso Abierto Factibilidad para la implementación de nuevas tecnologías para medidores de flujo eléctrico en la ciudad Cuenca, provincia del Azuay(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Carpio Rivas, Josué Sebastián; Narváez Cordero, Richard Gustavo; 0301751665; 0104612189Facing operational deficiencies and high internal costs of electricity suppliers, the AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) system is available today thanks to the evolution of technology. It uses Smart Grid smart meters that guarantee a sustainable and efficient energy system, with low-loss and high levels of quality and security of energy supply. In this sense, this research aims to present the feasibility of implementing new technologies for electric flow meters in Cuenca, province of Azuay, through a documentary research methodology and a feasibility analysis involving a market, technical, and financial study. The results demonstrated the project’s profitability with a Net Present Value of $436,859 and an Internal Rate of Return of 36.34%, concluding that the implementation of new technologies has been successfully tested in our country and in other latitu. Methodology: The study is based on the direct analysis of the information obtained from primary sources such as the Electricity Master Plan 2018 and “Empresa Eléctrica Regional Centro Sur C.A.,” with the support of documentary research. Results: There are three components to the project feasibility study to analyze its structure and profitability: market, technical, and financial.
