Ítem Acceso Abierto Síndrome de ovario poliquístico y repercusión metabólica durante la etapa reproductiva de la mujer. Revisión Sistemática(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2024) Neira Jara, Tatiana Lisseth; Mogrovejo Avila, Andrea Rossana; 0104937768Background: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a relevant and complex disorder that is identified by endocrine-metabolic dysfunction, presenting in women in the reproductive stage. Objective: To conduct research on polycystic ovary syndrome and its metabolic impact during the reproductive stage of women. Methodology: Descriptive, cross-sectional, and exploratory systematic review performed in databases (ScienceDirect, SciELO, Researchgate, Medigraphic, Journals, and Google Scholar), including scientific papers published in the last five years in Spanish and English. Results: Twenty-five articles were included, as considering they meet the inclusion criteria, thus determining this pathology's most frequent clinical manifestations and complications. Discussion: PCOS is closely related to obesity, which is the most common condition with 48%, while acanthosis nigricans is less common with 8%. Regarding complications, gestational diabetes mellitus is the most frequent with 32%, and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis is less common with 8%.
