Ítem Acceso Abierto Prevalencia de la ansiedad y depresión en personas migrantes de Latinoamérica.(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) guaiza Celleri, Marco; Aguirre González, Luis; Betancourtt Aguilera , Marcia; 0302858584; 1900732106The topic of this study deals with the prevalence of anxiety and depression in Latin American migrants, considering it as a general mental health problem. Depression becomes a severe condition, while anxiety is a specific condition that affects a person's cognitive, social, and general health. It can be enhanced due to the conditions in which Latin American migrants live. The main objective was to analyze the prevalence of anxiety and depression in Latin American migrants. A qualitative design was included for the methodological development, applying a literature review to a selection of scientific articles related to the topic in databases such as Dialnet, SciELO, Redalyc, and Scopus. Among the studies presented, it was evident that the migrant population faces a significant prevalence of depressive and anxiety symptoms. This increase is even more pronounced among migrant women, who often experience feelings of loneliness and isolation. Various factors contribute to this trend, such as obstacles to integration, language barriers, unfair treatment, cultural stress, discrimination, and social exclusion. Despite seeking a better life, many migrants face emotional symptoms such as fear, sadness, anxiety, depression, and uncertainty.
