Ítem Solo Metadatos Implantes cigomáticos: complicaciones, limitaciones y pronóstico- revisión sistemática.(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2022) Ortega Loja, Juan Eduardo; Reinoso Quezada, Santiago José; 0104191119Introduction: In the year 1989 zygomatic implants were developed and at present, it has been described that the treatment is an alternative technique for the rehabilitation of patients with severe maxillary atrophy, it is applied in patients with neoplastic diseases and severe maxillary atrophy treatments. The objective of the present research was to analyze and identify the advantages, limitations, and possible complications, as well as prognosis of zygomatic implant treatment through a review of the literature. Materials and methods: The present research is a systematic review in which information was compiled following the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines used for systematic reviews and meta-analyses. Result: A total of 32 articles were included in the qualitative synthesis. In the quantitative synthesis, 26 articles were included because they contained the required data. Conclusion: In the collection of information, 861 zygomatic implants were analyzed, and it was determined that only 5% presented complications during treatment or prosthetic failure. Rehabilitation with zygomatic implants in patients with severe maxillary atrophy is associated with high survival rates and a low incidence of complications.
