Ítem Acceso Abierto Experiencias adversas en la infancia y victimización por violencia de género(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2024) Zari Suquitana , Ana; Rodríguez Reyes, María; 0104152780Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) encompass various forms of traumatic or stressful events that occur during the early years of an individual's life and are associated with different negative consequences, such as the risk of future violence perpetration. Meanwhile, according to the World Health Organization, gender-based violence refers to any harmful action perpetrated towards an individual based on their gender. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between ACEs and victimization due to gender-based violence. This research was conducted through a qualitative bibliographic analysis with a descriptive scope based on the PRISMA declaration, supported by manual searches using the virtual library of the Catholic University of Cuenca in reliable databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed, Redalyc, and Taylor Francis. It was evident via the analysis of the reviewed information that ACEs related to victimization by gender-based violence include physical, psychological, sexual, and emotional abuse in childhood, abandonment, orphanhood, loss of one parent, being in an environment with a person who consumes substances or has a mental illness, perception of intrafamily violence, economic vulnerability, low resources, unmet basic needs, and gender nonconformity, all of which demonstrated their strong level of incidence in cases of intimate partner violence.
