- ÍtemSolo MetadatosAnálisis comparativo de las plataformas de play to earn en el metaverso de las criptomonedas(Universidad Católica de Cuenca, 2023) Défaz Serpa, Juan Sebastián; Flores Urgilés, Cristhian Humberto; 030254786-4ABSTRACT Video game business model broadcasting is a technology that produces a relevant impact worldwide, especially in the growing world of video games. This study focuses on the use of the play-to-earn platform and its relationship with cryptocurrencies and metaverse by analyzing the blockchain networks where it operates and the business models’ evolution. The research objectives were: a) to perform a comparative analysis of the play-to-earn platform and the cryptocurrency metaverse by using different performance tests to determine opportunities for professional development, b) to conduct a theoretical study on cryptocurrencies, play-to-earn, and other platforms, c) to develop a comparative analysis based on the results obtained from the different platforms, d) to build a proposal for play-to-earn based on blockchain technology and NFTs. Based on these, a study on blockchain networks is conducted. It was determined that the best network for play-to-earn games is Polygon since its deals have a minimum cost, becoming more profitable. The play-to-earn platforms in different networks are also analyzed through a comparative analysis using the same indicators as in the network analyses to establish the play-to-earn games and their scalability. Keywords: blockchain networks, play-to-earn games, metaverse, cryptocurrencies.
- ÍtemAcceso AbiertoGuía de prevención de riesgos de ciberseguridad derivado del uso del internet y las redes sociales en niños y adolescentes del cantón Cañar(Universidad Católica de Cuenca campus Cañar, 2023) Narváez Ochoa, Fernanda Michaelle; Flores Urgilés, Cristhian Humberto; 0302358601Access to the internet and social platforms has significantly increased among young people and children worldwide, mainly using smartphones and other portable devices. However, this access is not exempt from dangers, such as inappropriate content, cyberbullying, blackmail, among others. This document proposes the development of a cybersecurity prevention guide for minors in the Cañar canton. As part of this process, a survey was conducted on digital security and its impact on the children in various schools of the urban center of the Cañar canton. Subsequently, a risk assessment was carried out using the MAGERIT methodology, following each phase to determine the most critical aspects in terms of privacy and security for young people, in addition to identifying the main vulnerabilities and threats they face on a daily basis. The findings showed that these young people are highly susceptible to the risks of the web and social networks. Based on this, a cybersecurity prevention handbook was designed for parents and education professionals to enable children and adolescents to develop skills and knowledge to navigate safely. Keywords: cybersecurity, MAGERIT methodology, digital threats, social networks.
- ÍtemSolo MetadatosNon- Fungible token's (NFT'S). Blockchain´s oportunidades de desarrollo profesional, una mirada desde la Ingeniería de Sistemas(Universidad Católica de Cuenca, 2023) Romero Morocho, Cristian Rene; Flores Urgilés, Cristhian Humberto; 030265193-0ABSTRACT Blockchain technology has produced a relevant impact worldwide over time. It has created new opportunities for the creation, use of media, and development of marketing channels in the digital art market. Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are one of the marketing channels, so this article aims to develop a proposal for the use of non-fungible tokens through an analysis of their different settings, enabling professional and economic development. The objectives were: 1) a theoretical study of the non-fungible token blockchain, its different uses and applications; 2) a comparative analysis of the different platforms to buy and sell NFTs; opportunities for professional use; 3) development of a proposal for the use of NFTs that makes professional and economic development possible. Based on this, a study of the standards, blockchain networks, and the different platforms to buy and sell NFTs was carried out. Each of the NFTs platforms was analyzed through a comparative matrix where different indicators were studied: the user interface, the variety of NFTs allowed, commissions and currencies admitted to determine the best tool for developing the proposal. On the other hand, a comparison of the platforms in different networks was also made to establish the commission’s value for each of them. Finally, a proposal to use NFTs was made through a practice of buying and selling NFTs in the OpenSea tool and the Polygon network. keywords: mfts, opensea, polygon, blockchain, digital art.
- ÍtemSolo MetadatosTécnicas de minado de criptomonedas: Proof of work vs proof of stake(Universidad Católica de Cuenca, 2023) Morocho Gualpa, Erick Vladimir; Flores Urgilés, Cristhian Humberto; 030242214-2ABSTRACT Cryptocurrency technology has had a great impact on society worldwide, especially in the area of mining, through computer equipment in different consensus mechanisms. Users perform the mining process in exchange for financial rewards. This research compares between the Proof-of-Work (PoW) and Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanisms. The objectives were: a) to perform a comparative analysis between the two cryptocurrency mining techniques: PoW vs. PoS, using technical and financial indicators to determine the highest efficiency, b) to conduct a theoretical study on the concepts related to cryptocurrency mining, c) to analyze the positive framework of cryptocurrencies mining activity, d) to select the most appropriate mining technique. Previous to the mining process and the profitability and consumption study being conducted through the NVIDIA RTX 3060 graphics card using the Ethereum cryptocurrency in the PoW method, it has been determined that it is not feasible to perform mining when cryptocurrency price drops as profit is relative. It was also concluded that PoS is the most suitable mining consensus method since it does not consume much energy and is more scalable. Keywords: Mining, cryptocurrencies, consensus mechanisms, Ethereum.
