Ítem Embargo Actividades de enfermería en la prevención de úlceras por presión del Hospital Luis F. Martínez, mayo 2024-abril 2025.(Universidad Católica de Cuenca, 2025) Calva Siguencia , Juan Diego; Rojas Verdugo , Erica Paola; 0302993811Pressure ulcer prevention (UPP) consists of a set of systematic actions and care aimed at avoiding the appearance of skin lesions caused by prolonged pressure or friction, especially in people with reduced mobility or who are bedridden. In this sense, this research aimed to analyze the compliance of nursing activities in the prevention of pressure ulcers at the “Luis F. Martinez” Hospital. The research used a quantitative approach with a descriptive and cross-sectional scope by applying the knowledge questionnaire on pressure ulcer prevention, CPUPP-31, to 25 nurses. The results revealed that 77.9% comply with nursing activities in the prevention of pressure ulcers, and 22.1% show a lack of knowledge regarding compliance. The direct interventions used by nursing staff included frequent repositioning, regular skin inspection, appropriate use of support surfaces, moisture management and skin hygiene, and optimization of nutrition and hydration. Areas of deficient knowledge included specific topics such as pressure ulcer classification and staging, risk assessment using validated scales (Braden), selection and appropriate use of various types of support surfaces, management of patients with specific risk factors (incontinence and malnutrition), and knowledge of the latest evidence-based guidelines and recommendations. Based on the results of CPUPP-31, a proposal was developed with more effective preventive interventions aimed at the identified needs of the nursing staff. Keywords: Braden scale, ulcer prevention, UPP, CPUPP-31.
