The primary function of these organizations is to supply their range of medicines and various products to the entire Ecuadorian population. However, in recent years, the situation shifted due to the global impact of the virus from 2021 to 2022. At the national macro level, pharmacies have strengthened to ensure the continued supply of essential products and services during this unprecedented period. This article aims to compare the financial statements of various pharmaceutical companies and offer insights into their economic situation, particularly in the financial area. The methodology employed here is quantitative, constituting an exploratory study in which the financial data was sourced from the public platform of The Superintendence of Companies. The findings reveal that the Ecuadorian Pharmaceutical Distributor Group (Difare by its Spanish acronym) demonstrated increased assets, liabilities, and shareholders’ equity in both periods (2021-2022). In contrast, Farmaenlace experienced growth in assets and liabilities but a reduction in shareholders’ equity. Through the DuPont method, Difare achieved an average of 4.55% over the two years, closely followed by Farmaenlace with an average of 4.33% —almost equivalent to its direct competitor—.

- ÍtemAcceso AbiertoModelo de negocios para la micro cervecería artesanal GÜZMER en la ciudad de Cuenca – Ecuador(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Guzmán Guzmán, Wilmer Jhovany; Astudillo Arias, Pedro Yamil; 0103948550This work focuses on developing a business model that meets and exceeds the owners' expectations in a competitive market based on the growth of the existing demand for crafted-beer products, which have the advantages of not containing preservatives, dyes, and other elements that are part of the industrial beers. This will be achieved through the development of a craft brewery whose value proposition emphasizes the variety of styles and flavors, being brewed with coffee, cocoa, and pineapple supplies, resulting in unique beers, which will be marketed through specialized brewpubs, restaurants, retail stores, and supermarkets. This work aims to design a business model that allows the introduction of a micro craft brewery to the market in Cuenca, Ecuador; for this purpose, it is essential to establish a scientific-theoretical study that helps to develop the rationale corresponding to the business model problems to be applied. Similarly, the results of the market analysis to be reached are determined, as well as an operating capacity proposal based on the estimated investment; consequently, an economic and financial study is carried out to assess its viability, and lastly, the business model will be developed using the Business Model Canvas framework.

Therefore, this work aims to identify the relationship between the elements of the manager's personality and the company’s sales in the commercial sector. The methodology used was quantitative and exploratory; for the information collection, five hypotheses were formulated, and a survey was carried out with 124 business people from the Historic Center of Cuenca, Ecuador. The reliability of the questionnaire applied reached Cronbach's Alpha = 0.806. Considering the results, a human personality model called the “Big Five Test (Openness to experience, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness and Neuroticism)” was applied. The data from the survey were then subjected to a multiple linear regression analysis process using the SPSS computer system. The results showed that the “Responsibility” variable is the type of personality that most relates to and influences the sales process, with a significance of 0.005. It was concluded that “Responsibility” has a positive relationship with sales for business success
