Ítem Acceso Abierto Prevalencia de helicobacter pylori como factor de riesgo de úlceras gástricas, en la población de Ecuador: Revisión sistemática.(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2024-11-27) Unkuch Kuja, Celena Magally; Choez Loor, Sandra Karina; 1401090996Helicobacter pylori is regarded as one of the pathogenic agents capable of causing significant infections with high prevalence throughout human history, currently affecting a large portion of the global population. This bacterium has become a risk factor that triggers multiple conditions of the digestive system, including deep lesions that develop into gastric ulcers. Given the considerable complexity of this topic, a systematic review was conducted on the prevalence of Helicobacter pylori as a risk factor for gastric ulcers in Ecuador. The study methodology employed a qualitative approach, utilizing a systematic review design of studies published in academic and scientific databases, including PubMed, SciELO, ProQuest, LILACS, among others. Among the main findings, it was observed that Helicobacter pylori is identified as a bacterium capable of causing significant pathologies of the digestive system, with a high prevalence in the Ecuadorian population, affecting between 60% and 70% of cases. Furthermore, 31.11% of patients with digestive pathologies are infected by this bacterium. It is concluded that in Ecuador, Helicobacter pylori is a triggering risk factor for the development of gastric ulcers, and there is a scarcity of research addressing this health issue.
