dc.descriptionIntroducción: la HTA es una enfermedad grave que incrementa significativamente el riesgo de padecer enfermedades cardiovasculares, nefropatías, encefalopatías y entre otras patologías cerebrovasculares. Objetivo general: Evaluar la adherencia, prevención y control de la hipertensión arterial en Azogues. Metodología: estudio descriptivo, transversal con enfoque cuantitativo y cualitativo. Muestra: 120 pacientes con diagnóstico de hipertensión arterial que pertenecen a la ciudad de Azogues. Técnicas e instrumentos: Encuesta y entrevista, escala de Morisky Green y entrevista semiestructurada. Resultados: el 54,2% son adherentes, el 60,8% son mujeres, 50% son casados, de ocupación amas de casa un 36,7%, 44,2% de instrucción primaria, 54,2% de procedencia urbana. El 61,7% no tiene afiliación al IESS. En la exploración general la media de edad es de 53,2 años, el peso presenta una media de 69,8, y un IMC de 28,6, circunferencia abdominal de 100,4cm. En cuanto a la presión arterial sistólica la media es de 131,6 y la diastólica 76,1. Las percepciones sobre prevención y control de la enfermedad con el programa de Atlas. Ti fueron: no consumen tabaco y realizaron cambios importantes en su estilo de vida. Conclusiones: Casi la mitad de los participantes no son adherentes, presentan sobrepeso, no están afiliados al IESS, y cambiaron su estilo de vida.es_ES
dc.description.abstractIntroduction: High Blood Pressure (HBP) is a severe disease that significantly increases the risk of cardiovascular disorders, nephropathies, encephalopathies, and other cerebrovascular pathologies. General objective: To evaluate adherence, prevention, and control of arterial hypertension in Azogues. Methodology: A descriptive, cross-sectional study with a quantitative and qualitative approach. Sample: A number of 120 patients with a diagnosis of arterial hypertension from Azogues city. Techniques and instruments: Survey and interview, Morisky Green scale, and semi-structured interview. Results: According to data from the research, 54.2% were adherents, 60.8% were women, 50% were married, 36.7% were housewives, 44.2% had primary education, and 54.2% were from urban areas, 61.7% were not affiliated with any health insurance, 61.7% are not affiliated with the Ecuadorian Social Security Institute (IESS by its Spanish acronym). In the general examination, the mean age was 53.2 years old; the mean weight was 69.8, BMI was 28.6, and the abdominal circumference was 100.4cm. The mean systolic blood pressure was 131.6, and the diastolic blood pressure 76.1. Perceptions on prevention and control of the disease with the Atlas.ti were: they do not smoke and made significant changes in their lifestyle. Conclusions: Almost half of the participants are not adherent, are overweight, are not affiliated with the IESS, and changed their lifestyle.es_ES
