Corrección dentoesqueletal de un tratamiento ortopédico en paciente con labio y paladar fisurado unilateral: reporte de un caso.

dc.descriptionLos pacientes con labio y paladar fisurado son prevalentes a desarrollar maloclusión clase III, por la falta de fusión de los procesos nasopalatinos que generan anomalías craneofaciales y dentoalveolares, con la aplicación del tratamiento ortopédico se puede lograr cambios esqueletales y dentales. OBJETIVO: describir los cambios dentoesqueletales de un tratamiento ortopédico en paciente con labio y paladar fisurado unilateral no sindrómico. METODOLOGÌA: Para el tratamiento ortopédico se utilizó el disyuntor en abanico y la máscara facial de Petit durante 7 meses. RESULTADOS: se obtuvo cambios esqueletales donde el SNA aumento un 4,3º se obtuvo la protrusión del maxilar, se logró la clase I esqueletal y a nivel dental se consiguió una proinclinación y protrusión del incisivo superior, y la retrusión del incisivo inferior. CONCLUSIÓN: el tratamiento ortopédico utilizado ayudo a la expansión transversal del sector anterior, adelantamiento del maxilar y a disminuir la gravedad de la maloclusión Clase III.es_ES
dc.description.abstractPatients with cleft lip and palate are likely to develop class III malocclusion the lack of fusion of the nasopalatine processes generates craniofacial and dentoalveolar anomalies. The application of orthopedic treatment, skeletal and dental changes can be achieved. OBJECTIVE: To describe the dental- skeletal changes of orthopedic treatment in a patient with unilateral non-syndromic cleft lip and palate. METHODOLOGY: The fan-shaped circuit breaker and the Petit facial mask were used for the orthopedic treatment for seven months. RESULTS: Skeletal changes were obtained where the SNA increased by 4, 3º where the protrusion of the maxilla was observed. A skeletal class I was achieved, and at the dental level, a pre-inclination and protrusion of the upper incisor and retrusion of the lower incisor were obtained. CONCLUSION: The orthopedic treatment helped the transversal expansion of the anterior sector, advancement of the maxilla, and reduced the severity of the Class III malocclusion.es_ES
