dc.descriptionOBJETIVO: Determinar la autopercepción de la necesidad de tratamiento ortodóntico autopercibido mediante el Índice de Necesidad de Tratamiento Ortodóntico (IONT) en escolares de 12 años de edad, en las Escuelas dentro de la Parroquia Sucre – Cuenca 2016. MATERIALES Y METODOS: La metodología aplicada en este estudio fue cuantitativo, descriptivo, documental y observacional en las escuelas de la parroquia sucre, en las cuales se recolectaron una muestra total de 129 fichas de las cuales hubo un total de 72 hombres y 57 mujeres, mismos que fueron examinados y evaluados. RESULTADOS: Según el índice de necesidad de tratamiento ortodóntico nos demuestra que el 16% de los escolares necesitan tratamiento y el 84% de los estudiantes no necesitan tratamiento ortodóntico según su autopercepción en la parroquia Sucre - Cuenca 2016. Según los grados del IONT autopercibido existe necesidad leve 84%, Necesidad Moderado 10% y una necesidad severa 6%.CONCLUSIÓN: este estudio nos indicó que el 16% de escolares necesitan tratamiento ortodóntico. La mayoría de estudiantes necesita un tratamiento ortodóntico leve en cuanto al sexo femenino y masculino no existe una diferencia significativaes_ES
dc.description.resumenAIM: Determine the perception of the need for orthodontic treatment Self-perceived by the Index of Need Treatment (IONT) in School 12 years of age in school children within the Sucre parish - Cuenca 2016. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The methodology used in this study was quantitative, descriptive, documentary and observational, in schools in the Sucre parish, in which a total sample of 129 sheets which were collected. There were a total of 72 men and 57 women, same which were examined and evaluated. RESULTS: According to the index of need treatment shows us that 16% of school children need treatment and 84% of Students do not need orthodontic treatment according to their selfperception, in Sucre parish - Cuenca 2016. According to the self-perceived IONT degrees there a sligth need of 84%, A moderate need 10% and a severe need OF 6%. CONCLUSION: This study indicated that 16% of school children need Orthodontic treatment. Most students need a sligth orthodontic treatment, there is no significant difference for Female and Male.es_ES
