Resumen
ABSTRACT
Objective: To determine the Sars-CoV-2 variants and their frequency in the reinfection with the virus in Ecuador.Material and method: A systematic review of the literature was carried out through the organized exploration of scientific articles published since 2019 both in English and Spanish, in databases such as PubMed, Medline, Scielo, and the documents from organizations and sanitary authorities, including the following keywords: variants, COVID-19. Results: The SARS-CoV-2 variants circulating in Ecuador include B.1.1.7, A1b/131K and the A2/re5. Once the serch was carried out, 7 articles related to the theme were found such as “Sars-CoV-2 virus variants identified in Ecuador and frequency of reinfection with the virus in Ecuador. A Systematic Review ". Taking into consideration the date it seems that there are a few investigations about the theme since 2020. Conclusions: When the virus shows new mutations, these are known as original variants of the virus. Worldwide there are several variants of the SARS-CoV-2 virus that cause the COVID-19 disease, these variants generate concern by increasing the amount of infections and new variants begin to affect different age groups, being young men the population most vulnerable. Variants of the virus may have the ability to re-infect people who have recovered from previous versions of the coronavirus. They may even be resistant to the coronavirus vaccines that are being developed. However, in Ecuador there are no studies that determine whether there are cases of reinfection

RESUMEN
Introducción: Durante la pandemia por SARS COV-2 se ha observado una importante variabilidad interindividual tanto en la incidencia, como la prevalencia y la letalidad del covid-19.
Objetivo: Determinar las variantes de virus Sars-CoV-2 y su frecuencia de la reinfección con el virus en Ecuador Material y métodos: Se realizó una Revisión sistemática-metología Prisma, mediante la exploración organizada de artículos científicos publicados en bases de datos como: PubMed, Medline, Scielo, y de documentos de organizaciones y autoridades sanitarias; utilizando las siguientes palabras clave (variantes, cepas, COVID-19); desde el año 2019 y de idiomas de español e inglés. Resultados: Las variantes que se encuentra circulando en el Ecuador del virus SARS-CoV-2 son la B.1.1.7, A1b/131K y la A2/re5.Conclusión: Cuando el virus presenta mutaciones nuevas, se denomina variantes del virus original. A nivel mundial existen diversas variantes del virus SARS-CoV-2 causantes de la enfermedad por coronavirus 2019 COVID-19, estas variantes generan preocupación al incrementar la cantidad de contagios y las nuevas variantes empiezan a afectar a diferentes grupos etarios, dejando a la población más joven vulnerable.
