dc.descriptionOBJETIVO: El objetivo de esta investigación se basó en determinar la frecuencia de negligencia a tratamiento odontológico en pacientes de 45 a 65 años, en la parroquia El Sagrario de la ciudad de Cuenca Ecuador, en el año 2017. MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: La presente investigación fue de campo, con un enfoque cuantitativo, descriptivo, observacional, comunicacional y transversal, la población estuvo conformada por adultos de 45 a 65 años de edad pertenecientes a la parroquia el sagrario de la ciudad de Cuenca, que cumplieron los criterios de inclusión y exclusión, se realizó la encuesta “Barrera para acceder a servicios odontológicos” método aplicando el cuestionario de Negligencia dental de Thompson, el tamaño maestral se calculó mediante 1181 personas. La encuesta se realizó puerta a puerta, iniciando la entrevista con un saludo, solicitando datos personales y firmando el respectivo consentimiento informado. RESULTADOS: Se pudo determinar que la frecuencia de negligencia al tratamiento odontológico fue de un 77 % ocupando un porcentaje alto. Según la distribución de la muestra por edad y sexo se pudo determinar que existen más hombres negligentes de 51 a 60 años de edad. CONCLUSIÓN: Se puedo determinar que la frecuencia, según sexo, ocupación no tuvieron significancia basándose en la prueba estadística del chi cuadrado. Por otro lado la frecuencia de negligencia al tratamiento odontológico según nivel instrucción si tuvo significancia ya que en la prueba estadística del chi cuadrado es de (0.000000339).es_ES
dc.description.resumenOBJECTIVE: The objective of this research was based on determining the frequency of negligence to dental treatment in patients aged 45 to 65 years, in the El Sagrario parish of the city of Cuenca Ecuador, in the year 2017. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The present investigation was field, with a quantitative, descriptive, observational, communicational and cross-sectional approach, the population consisted of adults from 45 to 65 years of age belonging to the parish of the tabernacle of the city of Cuenca, who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, the "Barrier to access dental services" survey was carried out, applying the Thompson dental neglect questionnaire, the master size was calculated using 1181 person. The survey was carried out door to door, initiating the interview with a greeting, requesting personal data and signing the respective informed consent. RESULTS: It was determined that the prevalence of negligence to dental treatment was 77%, occupying a high percentage. According to the distribution of the sample by age and sex it was possible to determine that there are more negligent men from 51 to 60 years of age. CONCLUSION: It can be determined that the prevalence, according to sex, occupation did not have significance based on the statistical test of the CHI2. On the other hand, the prevalence of neglect of dental treatment according to the level of instruction was significant because in the statistical test of the CHI2, p (0.000000339).es_ES
