| dc.description | OBJETIVO: Determinar la relación de la ansiedad y ocupación en personas de 45 a 65 años en la parroquia Machángara, Cuenca – Ecuador, 2017. \n \nMATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: Se llevó a cabo un estudio descriptivo, transversal aplicado en la parroquia Machángara. La muestra estuvo constituida por 386 personas bajo el criterio de conveniencia. Se utilizó el cuestionario de la Escala de Ansiedad Dental versión corta (SDAI), construido por Stouthard, Groen y Mellenbergh, que evalúa la prevalencia de ansiedad dental en personas de 45 a 65 años. Para analizar los datos se invirtió los valores de las respuestas en las preguntas SI y NO en el programa Microsoft Excel 2010, en donde se convirtió en el valor SI en 1 y el valor NO en 0. Si el resultado da un valor de 0, la persona encuestada no presentaba ansiedad al tratamiento dental, caso contrario, si el valor es 1 o mayor a 1, la persona encuestada, presentaba ansiedad al tratamiento dental. RESULTADOS: De acuerdo al análisis realizado, existe un 52% de mujeres con ansiedad al tratamiento dental y un 48% de hombres con la misma condición. Se puede evidenciar que existe un mayor porcentaje de ansiedad dental en personas de 65 años de edad entre hombres y mujeres. La medida de asociación calculada con Odds ratio dió como resultado 1,78 siendo su índice de confianza 95% (1,06-2,99) por lo que se concluye que la ocupación es un factor de riesgo en la ansiedad del tratamiento dental. The short version of the Dental Anxiety Scale (SDAI) questionnaire, constructed by Stouthard, Groen and Mellenbergh, was used to assess the prevalence of dental anxiety in people aged 45 to 65 years. To analyze the data, the values of the answers were inverted in the questions YES AND NO in the Microsoft Excel 2010 program, where the SI value was converted to 1 and the NO value to 0.
