Complicaciones tempranas postrasplante renal asociada a la sobrevida del paciente

Abstract

End-stage renal disease has transplantation as the best method, offering a better quality of life to the patient. However, it is necessary to clarify the early complications that can occur post-transplantation. Prompt action is essential to prevent graft failure or even the death of the recipient. The objective of this study is to describe the early complications of post-renal transplantation related to patient survival. Complications have been observed related to the use of immunosuppressants, causing neurological damage and leading to infections. Other complications are also related to the cardiovascular, gastrointestinal systems, and on very rare occasions, oral cavity involvement has been described. For this literature review, the virtual library of the Catholic University of Cuenca was used, where access to databases such as PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus was available. Scientific articles were used without language restrictions and up to five years old that fall within Q1 to Q4. It was concluded that the most frequent complications observed in the research were infectious, and these were closely related to graft loss or failure and even the death of the patient in approximately 50%, depending on the pathogenic agent that infected the graft.
