Background: In the following work, demographic, economic and social health\ncharacteristics are analyzed in the rural community which are crucial to the\nnutritional status of children living in this population.\nObjective: Determine the prevalence of nutritional deficiency in children of\npreschool and school age in the Gullanzhapa community of parish Tarqui studio\nAzuay province in 2014.\nMaterials and Methods: The following paper is a prospective epidemiological\nstudy cross-sectional, conducted in community Gullanzhapa Tarqui parish Azuay\nprovince from May to October 2014. For the study a sample of 50 children was\ntaken with aged 1 and 10 years. Previously validated survey that was applied in the\nfamilies of the people, prior to the authorization of the legal representatives was\nused for data collection. For data analysis the SPSS version 15.00 Stasticts V\nprogram evaluation was used.\nResults: The study found that the rate of malnutrition in children of preschool and\nschool age community Gullanzhapa was 10% by weight ratio Z score.\nConclusions: It can be seen in the study that malnutrition affects children\nGullanzhapa community between the ages of 2-4 years in both malnutrition and\noverweight and obesity. Furthermore relationship between monthly income of\nparents with child malnutrition was found.
