Índice de Higiene Oral en niños de 6 años de la parroquia Sinincay del cantón Cuenca, provincia Azuay-Ecuador, 2016

| dc.description | OBJETIVO: Conocer los niveles de IHO-S, de placa bacteriana y del cálculo dental en niños de 6 años de edad de la parroquia Sinincay del cantón Cuenca, en escuelas fiscales, tanto en el sexo masculino como en el sexo femenino. MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: El diseño fue descriptivo, técnica observacional, transversal actual, la metodología aplicada fue de tipo cuantitativa. La muestra estuvo constituida por 121 fichas de escolares de 6 años. Los datos se obtuvieron de la base de datos EPI info ver 7.2, el diagnóstico fue realizado por estudiantes que sirvieron de operadores que estuvieron calibrados bajo criterios del Índice de Higiene Oral Simplificado (IHO-S) de Greene y Vermillon. RESULTADOS: Los resultados de los niveles de IHO-S en la parroquia Sinincay fueron 28 individuos en nivel EXCELENTE, 85 individuos en nivel BUENO y 8 individuos en el nivel REGULAR. Según el sexo los niveles de IHO-S, en el género femenino se obtuvieron: 12 individuos que corresponden al nivel EXCELENTE, 50 individuos que corresponden al nivel BUENO y 3 individuos que corresponden al nivel REGULAR. En el sexo masculino se obtuvo: 16 individuos que corresponden al nivel EXCELENTE, 35 individuos que corresponden al nivel BUENO y 5 individuos que corresponden al nivel REGULAR. El promedio de placa dental en el sexo femenino es de 0,59 y en el sexo masculino 0,57. CONCLUSIÓN: Se pudo determinar en nuestro estudio que el IHO-S fue más alto en los niveles BUENOS tanto en la parroquia, como en el género FEMENINO obtenidos en la muestra. | es_ES |
| dc.description.resumen | OBJECTIVE: The main objective of this research was to acknowledge the levels of IHO-S and the level of bacterial plaque present on 6-year-old children, considering both female and male gender differences, in public schools from Sinincay in the city of Cuenca. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The design of the present thesis is descriptive, conducting an observational approach of current transverseness, and the methodology applied was of quantitative research type. The sample comprehended 121 files of 6-year-old participants. The data was obtained from EPI info data-base ver 7.2. The diagnosis was performed by students who served as operators who were calibrated under criteria from the Simplified Oral Hygiene Index (IHO-S by its Spanish acronym) by Greene and Vermillon. RESULTS: The results that were obtained presented 28 individuals in the EXCELLENT level corresponding to the 23.12%, 85 individuals in the GOOD level corresponding to the 70.25%, and 8 individuals in the LOW level corresponding to the 6.61%. According to the sex gender, females were: 12 individuals corresponding to the 18.46% in the EXCELLENT level, 50 individuals corresponding to the 76.92% in the GOOD level, and 3 individuals corresponding to the 4.62% in the LOW level. On the other hand, males were: 16 individuals corresponding to the 28.14% in the EXCELLENT level, 35 individuals corresponding to the 62.50% in the GOOD level, and 5 individuals corresponding to the 8.93% in the LOW level. The average of dental plaque presence in females is of 0,59 and in males of 0,57. CONCLUSION: The study conducted was able to determine from the obtained sample, that the IHO-S was higher within the GOOD levels both in the village and the FEMALE participants. | es_ES |
