Conocimiento sobre los derechos de los pacientes en usarios que acuden al primer nivel de atención del centro de salud del cantón el Tambo, mayo-septiembre 2018

Abstract

The rights of the patients, are each of the rewards with which a person counts when it is attended in any health establishment, without any exclusion. The objective of the project is to assess the level of knowledge about the rights of the patient in the users who come to the Health Center of the canton El Tambo, in the first level of care. Methodology: A quantitative, descriptive cross-sectional study, with a sample of 140 patients, from a universe of 295 users. A validated structured survey was applied, the results of which were recorded in the SPSS V.21 system. Results: 41% of patients are between 51 years of age or older, 54% are female. 92% of patients reported having visited the health center more than once, 48% went to medical consultation and 25% to nursing care, regarding the level of knowledge; 84% evidenced a notable ignorance about the Law of Rights and Protection of the Patient; 66% of the population are unaware of the right they have to be treated in a timely manner in a dignified manner; 68% claimed not to have knowledge about the right not to be discriminated against; Likewise, it was evidenced that 74% also do not know about the right to receive information about the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of their state of health. Conclusions: The majority of the users who visit the Health Center, indicated that they do not know about the Law of Rights and Protection of the Patient.
