Abstract

This research work aims to compare the palatal chamfer preparation technique and the no-preparation technique for the placement of dental veneers, evaluating their durability and esthetics using a systematic review of scientific studies. The methodology applied includes collecting and analyzing articles from databases such as PubMed and Web of Science, focusing on studies comparing these techniques. The results indicate that the palatal chamfer technique offers better marginal adaptation and durability, although it is more invasive. On the other hand, the no-prep technique minimizes tooth wear and has fewer postoperative complications, although it may compromise longevity and esthetics over time. The primary conclusion is that the choice of technique depends on the patient's needs, with the palatal chamfer technique being more suitable for situations with high aesthetic demands and durability.
