| dc.description | El maíz destaca por ser el único cereal que puede ser empleado para consumo humano como animal, las alteraciones a causa del cambio climático sugieren buscar alternativas de alimentación para los animales, la presente investigación buscó evaluar los efectos de la densidad de siembra en el comportamiento agronómico del híbrido de maíz P4021 en el cantón Oña, provincia del Azuay. Se empleó un diseño de Bloques Completos al Azar (BCA) con cuatro tratamientos y cuatro repeticiones, totalizando 16 unidades experimentales de 12 m2 cada una, en un área total de 448 m2, se evaluaron cuatro densidades de siembra: 20, 40, 60 y 80 cm entre planta y todos a 60 cm entre surco, sembrando dos semillas por golpe. Los resultados revelaron que la densidad de siembra impacta significativamente en el comportamiento agronómico del maíz P4021, aunque no se observaron diferencias significativas para las variables, altura y numero de hojas, se presenta diferencias estadísticas en la variable peso en kg/tratamiento, destacando el tratamiento T1 (40 cm entre plantas) con media de 27,6 kg. El análisis de costos considera al tratamiento T1 como la mejor opción para la siembra de este híbrido, en comparación con el tratamiento testigo (T4). En conclusión, la densidad de siembra tiene un efecto en el cultivo del Híbrido P4021, 40 cm entre plantas presentó los mejores resultados, en cuanto a la rentabilidad en el análisis de costo de producción dando un resultado del 170% siendo así el tratamiento T1 ideal para el ensilaje de maíz. | |
| dc.description.abstract | Corn stands out as the sole cereal suitable for human and animal consumption. Climate change-related alterations suggest the search for alternative animal feed. This research aimed to assess the effects of planting density on the agronomic performance of the P4021 corn hybrid in the Oña canton, Azuay province. A Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) was used, consisting of four treatments and four replicates, with a total of 16 experimental units of 12 m2 each across a 448 m2 area. Four planting densities —20, 40, 60, and 80 cm between plants, all at 60 cm between furrows— were tested, with two seeds dibbled per hole. The results revealed that planting density significantly impacts the agronomic performance of P4021 corn. Although no significant differences were observed on variables like height and leaf count, there were statistical differences in the variable weight per treatment (kg), highlighting the T1 treatment (40 cm between plants) with a mean of 27.6 kg. The cost analysis considers the T1 treatment as the optimal choice for planting this hybrid, compared to the control treatment (T4). In conclusion, planting density affects Hybrid P4021 cultivation, with 40 cm between plants yielding the best results in terms of profitability in the cost of production analysis, resulting in a 170% increase, making the T1 treatment ideal for corn silage. | |
