| dc.description | OBJETIVO: El objetivo de esta investigación fue determinar el Índice de Higiene Oral Simplificado de Grenee y Vermillion en niños de 6 años de edad de las Unidades Educativas de la parroquia Huayna Cápac del cantón Cuenca en el año 2016. MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: Este estudio es de tipo cuantitativo, descriptivo, observacional, transversal actual. La muestra estuvo constituida por 145 fichas de escolares de 6 años de edad. Los datos se obtuvieron de la base de datos EPI INFO, el diagnostico fue realizado por operadores que estuvieron calibrados bajo criterios del Índice de Higiene Oral Simplificado (IOH-S) de Grenee y Vermillion. RESULTADOS: La distribución de la muestra según el sexo fue de 59% masculino y 41% femenino. El 74% pertenece a escuelas fiscales y el 26% restante a la única escuela particular. Los NIHOS de la parroquia fueron: 14% excelente, 55% bueno, 30% regular y 1% malo. Los pacientes de sexo masculino presentaron: 18% excelente, 56% bueno, 25% regular y 1 % malo, en el femenino un 10% excelente, 52% bueno, 38% regular y 0% malo. El mayor porcentaje de índice de placa blanda de cada unidad educativa fue de 1.19 (bueno), y placa calcificada se obtuvo un valor de 0.13 (bueno). El IOH-S según la gestión académica en el fiscal: 19% excelente, 49% bueno, 33% regular y 0 % malo, en el sector particular: 3% excelente, 71% bueno, 24% regular y 3 % malo. | es_ES |
| dc.description.resumen | OBJECTIVE: The objective of this research was to determine the Simplified Oral Hygiene Index of Grenee and Vermillion in children of 6 years of age of the educational units of Huayna Capac Parish of the Canton Cuenca in the year 2016. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This study is of quantitative type, descriptive, observational, current cross. The sample consisted of 145 sheets of 6 year old schoolchildren. The data were obtained from the EPI INFO database, the diagnosis was made by operators who were calibrated under the criteria of the Simplified Oral Hygiene Index (OHI-S) of Grenee and Vermillion. RESULTS: The sample distribution by sex was 59% male and 41% female. 74% of school belongs to the public schools and the remaining 26% to the only private school. The NIHOS of the parish were: 14% excellent, 55% good, 30% regular and 1% bad. The male patients presented: 18% excellent, 56% good, 25% regular and 1% bad, in the female an excellent 10%, 52% good, 38% regular and 0% bad. The highest percentage of soft plate index of each educational unit was 1.19 (good), and calcified plaque was obtained a value of 0.13 (good).
