Canino y segundo molar retenido. Reporte de caso clínico.

dc.descriptionLos dientes retenidos e incluidos e impactados, son piezas dentales que no han terminado su formación y se presentan de manera descendente, primero con los terceros molares inferiores, segundo los caninos superiores, tercero los segundos premolares inferiores, cuarto los incisivos centrales superiores y, en quinto lugar, los segundos molares inferiores. Un canino retenido es el último diente en salir hacia la arcada dental, por su ubicación puede encontrar una falta de espacio ya que el primer premolar y el incisivo entran en erupción antes que él. La etiología de los segundos molares es multifactorial (dieta, pérdida del diente, infecciones) pero aún no es clara. El objetivo es presentar la evolución del canino y segundo molar retenidos y el tratamiento para devolver la funcionalidad y estética de los mismos. Se expone el caso clínico de un paciente femenino de 13 años de edad, presenta en el examen radiográfico una retención del canino y el segundo molar permanentes, se determinó un plan de tratamiento en dos etapas, la primera que consiste en realizar una extracción del canino temporal y el germen del tercer molar de la arcada inferior izquierda e iniciar la fase tracción ortodóncica-quirúrgica y en segunda fase, la creación de espacio, la alineación y nivelación con ortodoncia. Se concluye que la evolución del tratamiento fue favorable, ya que el canino y el segundo molar llegaron al plano hacia el plano oclusal y ocuparon su espacio.es_ES
dc.description.abstractThe retained and included and impacted teeth are teeth that have not finished their formation and present in a descending manner, first with the lower third molars, second with the upper canines, third with the lower second premolars, fourth with the upper central incisors and, in fifth, lower second molars. An impacted canine is the last tooth to emerge into the dental arch; due to its location, it may lack space since the first premolar and incisor erupt before it. The etiology of second molars is multifactorial (diet, tooth loss, infections) but still unclear. The objective is to present the evolution of the retained canine and second molar and the treatment to restore their functionality and aesthetics. The clinical case of a 13-year-old female patient is exposed, presenting in the radiographic examination retention of the canine and the second permanent molar; a twostage treatment plan was determined, the first consisting of performing an extraction of the canine temporary and the germ of the third molar of the left lower arch and start the orthodontic-surgical traction phase and in the second phase, the creation of space, alignment, and leveling with orthodontics. It is concluded that the evolution of the treatment was favorable since the canine and the second molar reached the occlusal plane and occupied their space.es_ES
