Resumen
Background: The use of fiberglass posts in dental restoration contributes to the preservation
of the remaining tooth structure and to the improvement of long-term clinical results.
Objective: To synthesize the information available in the scientific literature on the variables
that affect the adhesion of fiberglass posts in restorations. Methods: Narrative bibliographic
review study, which consisted of the selection of 35 studies, of which 22 met the selection
criteria. Conclusions: The adhesion of fiberglass posts in dental restorations is affected by
several factors, including the type of cement, the cementation technique, the length and
diameter of the post, the condition of the tooth, and the root structure. Their careful
consideration is crucial to achieve optimal adhesion.

Introducción: La utilización de postes de fibra de vidrio en la restauración dental contribuye a
la preservación de la estructura dental remanente y a la mejora de los resultados clínicos a largo
plazo. Objetivo: Sintetizar la información disponible en la literatura científica sobre las
variables que afectan la adhesión de postes de fibra de vidrio en restauraciones. Métodos:
Estudio de revisión bibliográfica narrativa, que consistió en la selección de 35 estudios, de los
cuales 22 cumplieron con los criterios de selección. Conclusiones: La adhesión de los postes
de fibra de vidrio en las restauraciones dentales se ve afectada por varios factores, incluyendo
el tipo de cemento, la técnica de cementación, la longitud y diámetro del poste, el estado del
diente y la estructura radicular. Su consideración cuidadosa es crucial para lograr una adhesión
óptima.
